To protect and shimmy! Bieber fever hits Houston police officer who dances with singer Justin at mall hat shop

Justin Bieber has millions of teen and tween fans around the world.

But the popular singer proved that even grown men can't quite escape Bieber fever.

Over the weekend the Houston Police Department took to their Facebook to post a fun video via Prison Break Tattoos of one of their own dancing along with the 22-year-old singer and his crew.

Officer Dominique Moore was given the duty of protecting Justin from his rabid fanbase while he shopped at hat store Lids at the Galleria Mall on Saturday.

The What Do You Mean singer and his backing dancers decided to put on bright red and blue berets while putting on a playful impromptu moving and grooving session.

The group positioned themselves in a conga line while snapping and swaying their hips side-to-side in the aisle as the crowd outside of the store went wild.

As they inched closer to the entrance of the store Officer Moore appeared to have a bit of a fanboy moment himself as he got in front of the camera and pumped his fist with a smile.

Once Justin and company were near the exit, the policeman not only performed his duty by staying directly in the middle of the pop superstar and his Beliebers but also joined in on the fun as he busted a few moves.

No doubt the Sorry hitmaker gave the man of the law the thrill of the lifetime as Officer Moore told CW39 NewsFix: 'I started dancing with him. I was just happy to be dancing with my idol.

'That's probably the best day of my life right there.'

This was one of the lighter run-ins with the law, including one in Canada in which he allegedly assaulted a limousine driver, as his once squeaky clean image has been a bit tainted.

In 2014, he pleaded guilty to lesser charges after taking part in an illegal drag race on a Miami street.

He was sentenced to two years' probation that same year for throwing eggs at the home of a neighbour in California.
