A lot of the time holidaymakers are left questioning where the bright skies and white beaches are that they had been shown while passing over their credit card. Photographer Peter Stewart has revealed the difference in photographs before and after Photoshop in a series of images that include the likes of Chicago's skyline (left), Xingping in Southern China (centre) and even the Trevi Fountain in Rome (right).

The 195ft wingspan special performance model plane has been a regular feature at Bournemouth Airport, Dorset, for roughly a decade and is one of only 12 left flying after just 45 of the high end planes were built.

The new digitally-enhanced image of the construction site in California features cameos from some of the franchise's characters, including Stormtroopers, X-wing fighters, walkers and even R2-D2 and BB-8.

Mirus Aircraft Seating, based in Hingham, Norfolk, has agreed a deal to manufacture its new Hawk concept for budget carrier AirAsia's entire fleet, amounting to more than 300 planes and nearly 60,000 seats. Designed for short-range flights, the seat was inspired by Formula 1 with an ergonomic and lightweight design. Each seat has an ultra-slim backrest, armrests at comfortable lengths, 10-degree recline and a width of 17.3in between arms. Keeping with the no-frills approach of budget carriers, there are no in-flight entertainment screens.

Caught on camera: Moment a Boeing 737 disappears into a cloud of smoke after wheel LOCKS during Birmingham Airport landing
The clip shows a Blue Air passenger plane from Bucharest approaching the runway at Birmingham Airport on Tuesday and then touching down - but smoke soon engulfs it. The airport told MailOnline Travel that the wheel of the aircraft had 'locked' upon landing, while the carrier explained that the tyre subsequently overheated and had to be replaced. Shockingly, after landing, a FlyBe aircraft is also recorded touching down on the same runway - which the cameraman claims was not checked for debris until two other flights were on the ground.
A selfie with an 'armed Taliban fighter' and dinner with Iraqi police: Adventure-seeking traveller leaves home with $80, HITCH-HIKES around the world... and shares some heart-stopping moments

This will get those pesky birds in a flap: Robotic falcon will patrol airports in a bid to prevent bird strikes
'Robird' - which is propelled by flapping wings - will take to the skies above Dusseldorf Weeze airport in Germany to help protect aircraft as they take off and land. The Dutch designers say that there are two species of Robird, a falcon, which can be used to chase off birds up to three kilograms and an eagle, which can see off any type of bird. A video made by the designers shows how the birds are controlled by a 'pilot' on the ground.
Slow moo-tion: The farm that lets visitors ride COWS rather than horses (but treks can take a while as the bovines love to graze)
Forget horses, Bolderhof Farm in the Swiss Alps offers guests the chance to clamber onto the back of a cow on a trek that lasts between 90 minutes and half a day. The owner of the farm says that unlike horses, dairy cows are less likely to react to scenarios around them than horses, meaning the risk of falling off is slim. Guests are able to get acquainted with their bovine in a short meet and greet, before putting on a helmet and saddling up for the unusual experience.
'The Beverly Hills of the dead': The cemetery where mourning relatives live ALONGSIDE the dead in tombs with bedrooms, kitchens and air-conditioning

The Chinese Cemetery of Manila features a community of spectacular mansion-like tombs that are equipped with everything from kitchens to air-conditioning and bedrooms to running water - so relatives can be near to their deceased at all times. Many of these tombs are as large as a regular house - some even bigger - and while some family members spend a few days visiting, there are those who have made the cemetery their permanent address. With fully-functioning phone lines, flushing toilets and TVs and even a local restaurant, the cemetery operates like a fully-functioning neighbourhood (inset).

The buildings are so impressive that they've become popular with tourists, artists and photographers, keen to step back in time to a golden age.
