Going, going, GONE! Dramatic moment old bridge over Oklahoma’s Washita River is demolished with 600lbs of explosives
- The bridge was rigged with explosives and demolished in October 2015
- Built in 1943, it had been damaged by floods last year
- A new bridge is currently being built and will open in July
It was first built in 1943 and stands tall over the Washita River.
However, it took less than one minute for this old bridge to be completely demolished, after it was rigged up with 600 pounds of explosives and imploded.
The incredible moment the bridge came down was captured in a slow-motion video on a GoPro set up near the site.
The video was posted on YouTube as part of the annual GoPro awards.

Explosive: A new bridge is currently being built and will open in July 2016, according to current plans
Because the video was filmed in slow motion, it allows viewers a better look at how the explosives bring down the bridge after being detonated.
The bridge came down in October 2015 and was taken away in five pieces after the explosion, KTAR News reported.
It was situated along U.S. Route 377 and Oklahoma State Highway 99.
The bridge had been damaged in floods 'beyond repair' and could not be rebuilt.
Construction on the new bridge began October 5.
The new Washita River Bridge will be wider, higher and longer than the old one.
It is scheduled to be fully operational in July.
Local roads have been closed since the floods, so the removal of the bridge has not made any sudden changes to traffic in the area.
