At least four people have died in flooding in Houston, Texas, where a month's worth of rain fell in just one hour.  Two people died in a vehicle that ignored barricades at a freeway underpass, Harris County Judge Ed Emmett confirmed.  Traffic cameras recorded the vehicle going around the blockade and head into the water. The vehicle didn't make it through.

Emmy winning actress Doris Roberts has passed away at the age of 90. The Everybody Loves Raymond star died on Sunday in Los Angeles. Roberts, who garnered five Emmys during her 64 year career, is survived by her son Michael Cannata Jr. She is pictured left in 2005 in New York City, center during a scene from the show and right on the set of the film 'Rabbit Test' in 1978. Inset she is seen with one of the Emmys she won throughout her career. Raymond star Ray Romano, who played Raymond, remembered the actress who played his character's mother in a statement: 'Doris Roberts had an energy and a spirit that amazed me. She never stopped.'

The Duke of Cambridge was seen wiping his eye (left) and his face (right) as he and the Duchess left the historic landmark where one of the most famous photographs of his mother was taken. The 1992 image of Diana (inset) looking forlorn and alone outside the glorious symbol of eternal love as her marriage to Charles crumbled, became one of the iconic images of their failed relationship.

A Texas mother of three, Terri 'Missy' Bevers (pictured right), 45, was found dead on Monday morning inside of a church where she teaches a fitness class. CCTV captured a suspect (pictured) wearing SWAT gear. Police they found evidence of forced entry at the Creekside Church in Midlothian which leads them to believe that Bevers may have walked in on a robbery.

President Barack Obama took to Twitter to praise the strength of Boston Marathon bombing survivor Adrianne Haslet after she crossed the finishing line of today's marathon following some setbacks along the course. Haslet is pictured left, crossing the finishing line, and right, celebrating. Inset is Obama's tweet. She completed the 26.2 mile course just under 10 hours after she started the race after running into difficulties with her prosthetic limb along the way and stopping for assistance. The 2013 blasts killed three and injured 264 others near the finish line on Boylston Street.

Mitch Hunter was just 21 when his car smashed into a 10,000-volt electrical pylon 15 years ago. He pushed the woman next to him out of harm's way. As he did, a near-lethal force of electricity surged up his foot, through his body, and out of his face. Within five minutes the former soldier was unrecognizable. Despite undergoing 20 corrective operations - grafting skin from his legs, arms and back - children would still scream at the sight of him in the street. In a desperate bid to regain some normalcy in his life, Indiana-based Hunter submitted himself to become one of the first people in the world to receive a face transplant in 2011. Five years later, now 35, married, with a child of his own, he has spoken out to describe his incredible recovery, insisting he has never felt better.

General Electric Aviation has designed the worlds largest jet engine. Dubbed GE9X, its front fans span 11 feet in diameter, inlet duct measures 18 feet by 12 feet and can generate 100,000 pounds of thrust. The firm say it is so large that Shaquille O'Neil could fit comfortably inside of it with Kobe Bryant on his shoulders. This massive engine is the first working prototype that was developed to power Boeing's 777X aircraft and is currently being tested at the firm's boot camp for engines near Peebles, Ohio.

Rescuers pulled three people out alive Monday after they had been trapped for more than 32 hours in the rubble of a shopping center that was flattened by this weekend's powerful earthquake on Ecuador's coast.Televised images of the dramatic pre-dawn rescue in the port city of Manta gave Ecuadoreans hope that some of the dozens of people still unaccounted for might yet be found. To reach the survivors trapped between the floor and roof of the collapsed shopping center in Manta, firefighters cut a nearly 2½-foot (70-centimeter) hole through concrete then pulled a woman out head first. A group of firefighters applauded as she emerged from the debris, disoriented, caked in dust and complaining of pain but otherwise in good health.

Sex-obsessed filmmaker Grigory Mamurin is the spoiled teenage grandson of a Russian oligarch who is stooping to new lows to prove people will do anything for money - even killing a pet dog (left). He has sparked disgust with his series of videos showing showing him persuading people to drink his urine and flash their breasts (right) for wads of cash. Bernie Sanders made one last attempt at wooing New York voters tonight, on the eve of the state's primary at a waterside rally in Long Island City's Hunter's Point South Park. The underdog candidate trails Hillary Clinton by double digits and is likely to lose the Tuesday contest he admitted was 'enormously important.' Tomorrow (Tuesday) let us all do everything we can to make sure that New York state has the largest turnout in a Democratic primary in its history,' he told the crowd. 'Tomorrow New York can help take this country a giant step forward for the political revolution.'

The downtime was captured after Ivanka's first week back to work following just two weeks of maternity leave. A New Jersey woman's Hollywood dream was the straw that nearly broke her back - pushing her into excruciating pain following a 15-year battle with severe scoliosis. Caroline Heinle, 31, moved out to the West Coast to kickstart her blossoming career as an actress, not thinking twice about the 46-degree curve in her spine.

A mother has won $50 million from a hospital six years after a doctor left her with irreperable wounds during a natural childbirth. Llaulin Cruz, 38, (left and top right) has had permanent bladder issues, forcing her to wear panty liners every waking hour, since delivering her daughter in 2009 at St Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, New York (bottom right). It means she can't have sex with her husband (top right, with their two children), struggles to work, and endures hours of pain a day. A jury heard her obstetrician Dr Michael Ihemaguba (inset) carried on ordering Cruz to push long after her newborn had crowned during the birth six years ago. He then made a surgical incision in her vagina, an episiotomy, which is advised against by the US obstetricians board. And the jury heard he did not properly stitch up the wound. Unaware of the botched wound, Cruz got pregnant again a year later, and it ripped when she gave birth naturally. In the six years since, she has had more than 12 operations to repair the tear. On Monday, after a month-long jury trial, Cruz was awarded $40 million for future pain and damage, and $10 million for past suffering.

Savannah Root from Lamar, Missouri, shared the image on Facebook with stumped users staring at it for hours to try to figure out what it was. The puzzle has since been liked more than 25,000 times and shared by 4,500, as well as attracting 9,000 comments. While some spotted the image in the black and white drawing straight away, others saw everything from a bat hanging upside down to a penguin peeing. It's just the latest in a long line of optical illusions to take the internet by storm.

Photographer Kevin Faingnaert travelled to villages in the Faroe Islands to provide a glimpse into the lives of people living on the archipelago. To create this photos series, names 'Føroyar', Kevin immersed himself in different villages in the Faroe Islands, staying in local houses and hitch-hiking rides from place to place. There, he found houses cut off from civilisation (main), a young boy playing trombone on the beach (top left) and met locals including artist and adventurer Trontur Patursson (top right). In the pictures, villages with populations as low as just nine people can be seen.

A new book by author Rich Cohen, who has known the Stones for two decades, describes Jagger as being interested only in the show going on, with the first casualty Brian Jones in 1969. Jones was a founding member of the band (pictured - right, in the center of the front row - in 1963) but died in a swimming pool after his life spiraled out of control. Cohen says Jagger (performing with Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards this month in Cuba) was the driving force in the decision to sack Jones, and effectively took over the band in the 1970s when the other members were consumed by drugs.

Kathleen 'Kick' Kennedy was the second daughter of Joe and Rose Kennedy and the sister closest in age to John F. Kennedy. The siblings were both living in Washington, D.C., where Kick introduced him to her colleague Inga Arvad, a voluptuous blonde Dane. She had been pictured with Adolf Hitler at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. Arvad and JFK had a torrid affair - until Joe put the kibosh on it after she was denounced as a German spy. While living in London, Kick, an Irish Catholic, fell in love with Protestant Billy Hartington, the future Duke of Devonshire. Joe and Rose Kennedy were furious about the match and when the couple married only her brother Joe Jr. came to the wedding. Their wedding night was a disaster because Billy was so inexperienced - but they learned about sex together. But Billy was tragically killed in WW II just four months later - and Kick died in a plane crash in 1948.

Thousands from all over Florida descended on Miami Beach on Saturday to relax, float and party at the biannual event. But Miami officials and environmental groups were enraged after festival goers left behind a trashed beach covered in discarded inflatables, bottles and plastic. While attendees complained about widespread drug use, drug dealing and 'idiots' bringing knives and smashing bottles.

A female Ricky Martin fan paid an eyewatering $90,000 for a kiss with the hitmaker. Ana Paola Diniz placed the highest bid at an auction to raise money for AIDS charities and planted the kiss on her idol at the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Friday.  The 44-year-old singer passionately embraced the dog breeder, who owns a pet resort, at the event and did not hold back as they locked lips following the whopping bid. 

Jeanette Andrews, from Chicago, has been performing magic since she was in preschool. On a morning news show, she has a reporter choose a white rose from a bouquet in a vase. She then plucked a petal from the rose and dropped it in a glass. After swirling the glass in circles, the petal inside turned into an egg - which she promptly cracked to reveal a yolk inside.

Video footage has captured the incredible moment a 47-year-old woman dressed only in her underwear chose to jump from the third floor of a burning building. Miraculously, she survived, even though a sheet held in the street below by horrified neighbours ripped on impact. The unbelievable escape took place in the town of Cedeira in Galicia, Spain.

An Australian comedian is at it again, posting more photos spoofing the ridiculous social media pictures that celebrities upload to Instagram. Celeste Barber, who first started posting the hilarious comparison shots last year, has continued to recreate celeb shots including Victoria Beckham's leg split (left) and Khloe's post-workout selfie (right).

During the clip, filmed at an unknown location, the puppy (pictured) is completely flustered by the apparent vanishing pooch and jerks its head back and forth to see that the wool is not being pulled over its eyes. Bulldogs are not known for being particularly intelligent dogs and as the short video shows, this one is no exception to the rule.

A central Iowa woman is going public with a personal struggle, and the public is enthusiastically trying to help. Megan Hejlik, 30, of Sheffield was adopted and is now trying to find her birth parents. Last Friday, April 8, Hejlik posted a photo of herself holding a sign on Facebook asking for help finding her birth family. The post has since been shared more than 8,400 times and collected dozens of supportive comments.

Four-month-old Louna (pictured), a Samoyed pup from Thonon, France, was filmed enjoying her first visit to the beach over the weekend. She ran, dug and lapped at the water, all while playing up to the camera. The young pup even tried to make friends with some of the local wildlife, attempting to play with a shellfish.

After patiently hiding in the treetops awaiting its prime opportunity to swoop, this is the dramatic moment a keen short-toed snake eagle launched its offensive on an unsuspecting cobra. The large bird, which usually feasts on smaller reptiles, spotted a potential meal slithering around in the grass and prepared to swoop in on its prey (left) in woodland just outside of Bangalore, India. However, instead of successfully managing to startle the large cobra, the eagle ended up getting somewhat of a shock when the snake reared up in anger and launched its own mid-air strike. Dramatic pictures, taken by amateur photographer Vikram Ramesh, caught the moment the deadly snake reared up and lunged towards the eagle (right), forcing the savvy bird to swerve away from its fangs.
