Their highly publicised romance broke down nearly a year ago.

But with the new year comes new beginnings, and it appears that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are seguing back into each others' arms.

The young on-off lovers were spotted on Thursday riding Segways together in the Baby singer's neighbourhood of Calabasas, California.

The attractive pair zoomed along the sun-filled streets of the celebrity enclave as Justin, 19, couldn't help but show off his skills on the motorized vehicle.

The Hold On Tight singer could be seen a dozen yards ahead of Selena as he kept pace with a male friend, who matched the pop idol in a snap back cap, white T-shirt, and jeans.

The 21-year-old popstrel for her part wore grey tights and a long slinky top as she tied her long brunette hair into a ponytail.

The Beauty And A Beat hitmaker and the Spring Breakers actress split last year following a turbulent two-year relationship.

Twitter user Nick Sanitsky posted a picture of the pair on the unusual mode of transport and wrote: 'Bieber and Selena segwaying in the Oaks. She was so nice, so he yelled at us (sic)'.

him, but he enjoyed seeing brunette stunner Selena.

In a series of tweets, he wrote: 'Shoutout to @justinbieber for holding up all the traffic in the Oaks. Grow up.

'Thanks to @justinbieber told us to f*** off, and his bodyguards blocked the road, so hello to my new followers!

'Gotta admit, I was kinda starstruck by @selenagomez but @justinbieber ruined the moment (sic)'.

The pair's reunion comes just weeks after Selena was said to be in a 'bad place' as she was still struggling to come to terms with their split.

A source explained: 'Dealing with her breakup from Justin has still been affecting her and she's been in a bit of a bad place recently.

'Her family stepped in and basically advised her to either go to therapy or stay with them so they could watch over her. Her team agreed that family time would be best.'

This comes just after the Baby singer told Power 106 in December, 'She's a great woman. I love her till this day.'

Justin also said in his radio interview, 'I wrote the best music once my heart was broken.

'All That Matters was written when I was in a great place in my relationship, and at that time, [Selena] was all that mattered in my life.'

Some of the lyrics from his Gomez-inspired single include, 'You're all that matters to me/ Ain't worried about nobody else/If it ain't you, I ain't myself/ You make me complete.'

Bieber continued, '[The break up] affected us, especially when we are in front of so many people. It's such a public thing.

'It's just hard for the both of us,' he added.

He also gave some hope that they'd be on good terms again soon. 'I think we're going to be the greatest of friends. Right now we're taking a little time and not talking,' he admitted.
