Who knew we'd meet again? LeAnn Rimes shares TBT photo of meeting Eddie Cibrian when she was 14 (and MY how she's changed!)

They met and fell in love while making the Lifetime movie Northern Lights in 2009.

But more than a decade earlier, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian had had a chance encounter while each was at the start of their careers.

'I was 14, he was 23. We don't remember meeting. He found this in the garage while going through boxes. 14 years later who knew we'd meet again,' the country music star tweeted alongside a throwback Thursday snap of them taken 20 years ago.

In the vintage snap, LeAnn wears her bright blonde hair with bangs and feathered ends styled under her chin.

She has on a sleeveless black dress with white piping and is wearing bright red lip color as she beams happily at the camera.

Eddie is in a white shirt over a white tee and has a hint of the goatee he still wears to this day.

By comparison, in a selfie of the couple posted to Instagram three weeks ago, Eddie looks almost unchanged while LeAnn looks very different from her teen self.

Eddie still has the same hairstyle and stubble, although it's now more salt-and-pepper than brown.

His wife, though, has gown out her hair that's a darker blonde color now and favors a middle parting rather than bangs.

Her face appears somewhat changed, too, and amazingly wrinkle-free.

LeAnn, now 33, doesn't specifically date the TBT photo but she was 14 in 1997 and has just achieved stardom with her first album Blue.

It was also the year when she became the youngest person to win a Grammy, earning two trophies for Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance for Blue. 

She was also the first Country Music artist to win the Best New Artist category.

After a handful of small roles, Eddie in 1997 had just come off a recurring role in Baywatch Nights and landed a leading role in the soap Sunset Beach that ran from 1997 to 1999.

In Thursday's post, LeAnn reflected on the intervening period between that first meeting with Eddie and the fact that on Friday they will celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary.

'Crazy, all the life that happened between those two encounters, the lessons that needed to be learned. Fate? Chance? Serendipity? Who knows ?' she wrote.

'All we do know is, here we are together and tomorrow we are celebrating 5 years of being married and we wouldn't want to be anywhere else.'

LeAnn was previously married to dancer Dean Sheremet whom she wed in 2002 and divorced in 2010.

Eddie has two sons with his ex-wife Brandi Glanville who filed for divorce after learning of his affair with the singer. They had been married for eight years.
