House prices have increased by £95,997 on average, bringing the typical value of a home along the route to £712,416. The average cost of a property on the race route ranges from just under £315,000 in Woolwich to £2.5million in St James's. 'Peter is going to be happy here,' said Mrs Berkin, before adding: 'It has been positive because I am still here with him.' Meanwhile a six-bedroom house in Newport (bottom right) is on sale for £1,795,000 with the owners refusing to be drawn on how much they had spent on the build.
