Auckland Zoo is constantly changing with new animal arrivals, births and improvements to the Zoo grounds. We regret any inconvenience that maintenance and construction work may cause during your visit.

Animals off-display, areas under construction or undergoing maintenance:

If you're looking for our meerkats and leopard tortoises - they've moved to our new African savannah.
Our Australian birds are off-display and the aviary is closed due to maintenance on their enclosure.
Our takahe are off-display, due to the hatch of five critically endangered orange-fronted parakeets in the High Country aviary.
