OITNB star Taylor Schilling wears 'far more make-up than you would imagine' to appear bare-faced on camera for prison inmate role
She plays prison inmate Piper Chapman on her hit show Orange Is the New Black.
But Taylor Schilling says despite her character's seemingly bare face, it takes more time and make-up than one might think to get her ready for filming.
'It does take time to get Piper [ready]. It takes far more make-up than you would imagine for me to look like I’m wearing absolutely no make-up,' the 31-year-old actress revealed.

But the Golden Globe nominee told People magazine she finds it 'very liberating' to star in a role which requires her to wear few cosmetics.
She added that it feels good and is more 'interesting' to depict a non-glamorous character.
'I think it’s very liberating to [play a character who doesn’t wear make-up],' the Emmy Award nominee admitted.

She continued: 'It knocks away one level of artifice, and I think that is what I appreciate most about acting,'
'It’s trying to drill down to the truth of a character, or situation or a circumstance and in some cases, lots of make-up helps with that.'
'In this situation, in the story of Piper Chapman, it really illuminates interesting parts of her that she doesn’t wear any make-up.'
