'Was it all worth it?' Marc Anthony wishes he'd been a stay-at-home dad and admits he regrets putting career ahead of his children

He's a Latin music megastar who's translated his global fame into a multi-billion-dollar business empire.

But singer Marc Anthony has revealed he regrets prioritizing his career over spending time with his children, and wishes he had been a stay-at-home dad.

'The one regret would be that what I chose to do took so much of my time,' the father-of-six admitted to Tracy Smith of CBS'Sunday Morning.

'What I would have done to have been a stay-at-home dad, and, you know, witnessed every second of everything,' said the 47-year-old.

'I would have loved that,' said Marc. 'Didn't work out that way.'

'So it's the one thing that just tugs at me... that's the biggest sacrifice. 

'And you sort of start to wonder, was it all worth it? Was it worth it?'

The musician, who wed model Shannon De Lina in 2014, shares eight-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-wife Jennifer Lopez.

He also shares sons Cristian, 15, and Ryan, 12, with ex-wife Dayanara Torres.

And he has a daughter Arianna, 22, and a son Chase, who is adopted, with ex-Debbie Rosado.

In addition to selling millions of albums, Marc now runs a multi-million dollar business empire including a clothing line for department store Kohl's, an entertainment company focusing on Latinos and a share of the Miami Dolphins NFL team.

The I Need You hitmaker also reflected on his experience growing up as one of eight children in New York City.

'To my mom, I was a pain in the ass. To my dad, I was the light of his eyes. And to me, I was awkward,' he told CBS. 

'My dad always told me, and as God's honest truth, 'Son, we're ugly. Work on your personality.''
