Why so demure, Demi? Actress Moore offsets a neon floral minidress with a long black coat as she lends star power to Goldie Hawn charity do

It may have looked like Demi Moore was enjoying the delights of spring on Friday night, but she was obviously still feeling the chill.

The 53-year-old was bold in a neon floral minidress that skimmed off at the knee and then covered it up for the red carpet at the Love in For Kids event with a long, black coat.

Actress Demi was lending her star power to friend and fellow Hollywood star Goldie Hawn's charity do, who she later linked up with, inside the event.

Demi matched the hostess' bright display with bold blooms on her frock that complemented Goldie's fuchsia trouser suit.

But Bruce Willis' ex-wife was evidently keen to make the most of her well-thought-out accessories on the night, leaving on a coat that matched her shoes.

The outergarment featured chic feathered sleeves, while her cut ribbon-tied shoes featured a light white collar at the ankles.

She was alone and therefore unaccompanied by her famous daughters Scout, Rumer and Tallulah, who she shares with Die Hard star Bruce.

More like sisters than mother and daughters, Demi is regularly seen hanging out with the youngest of her brood.  

Demi wasn't alone in star-status, nevertheless, since guests included Nicole Richie, Camilla Alves and Rachel Zoe.

Similar to Demi in her inclination towards spring florals, Nicole turned heads in a dual layer blue dress featuring red and green flowers.

While the top layer was a blue sheer material, the base layer was a satiny white color, which could barely be seen under the eye-catching pattern.

The annual event benefits the Goldie's program, Mind Up, and was held this year in Beverly Hills with a suitably A-list attendance, including her daughter Kate Hudson and her long-time love Kurt Russell.

Goldie's Mind Up program trains teachers and schools to help children develop the emotional and social skills needed to aid their learning through the Buddhist technique of Mindfulness Training, to schools around the world. 

It aims to help children increase their concentration, improve their behaviour and deal with stress.
