VANCOUVER ART GALLERY TOUR · 6-8PM CA$97/person

This tour will give participants the opportunity to explore the largest art museum in Western Canada, the Vancouver Art Gallery, located at a 15-minute walk from the Vancouver Convention Centre.

On that day, the Gallery will be hosting “MashUp: The Birth of Modern Culture”, a ground-breaking exhibition that will offer an international survey of mashup culture, documenting the emergence and evolution of a mode of creativity that has grown to become the dominant form of cultural production in the early 21st century.

Participants will have exclusive access to the 3rd floor, where the main topic will be: The Post-War: Cut, Copy and Quotation in the Age of Mass Media Andy Warhol to Dara Birnbaum

After the private tour of the exhibition, the group will walk back to the Convention Centre.

Grouse Mountain Tour · 6-9:30PM CA$120/person

This tour will surprise participants with the natural beauty of Vancouver’s North Shore and spectacular city, mountain and ocean views.

A deluxe motor-coach will take you along the Stanley Park causeway and over the impressive Lions Gate Bridge to the North Shore, winding up the Capilano Canyon to the base of Grouse Mountain, where guests ascend by gondola to Grouse’s 3,700 foot high vantage point. Through the Maple Leaf Awards, the Conservative Party of Canada recognizes outstanding contributions by individuals and EDAs towards our efforts to prepare for, and win, election campaigns.

Most Helpful EDA

Presented to the EDA that has shown the ability to mentor and encourage other EDAs, since June 2013. This is the EDA that invites other EDAs to participate in events (fundraising, social), and also makes a concerted effort to assist less experienced board and executive members.

Individual Awards

The Doug Finley Award for Outstanding Campaign Manager

Announced at the Conservative Convention in 2011 and was awarded for the first time in 2013. The late Senator Finley’s name had become synonymous with dedication and excellence in the Conservative Party’s campaign history, and this award will forever serve as a testament to his legacy. With his remarkable contributions in 2004, 2006, and 2008, he inspired not only this award but also the endeavors of so many campaigners working across Canada, achieving victory and establishing strong foundations for a majority government in 2011.

The Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser Award

Presented to the individual who, whether through hard work, constant innovation, or simple and effective measures, has consistently served her/his riding association through his/her fundraising efforts. Whether through the use of direct mail or the difficult planning of events, this person has shown personal initiative in individually raising the local donations necessary to fund a campaign, win elections, and represent the interests of hardworking Canadians.

The David McPherson Award for Most Outstanding Volunteer

The David McPherson Award for Most Outstanding Volunteer

The David McPherson Award for Outstanding Volunteer was introduced in 2013 by the National Council in honour of their former colleague from the Canadian North (2008-2012). David died at the age of 57 after a long fight with cancer, leaving behind his wife Wendy, son Leyland, and many good friends on National Council and within the Conservative Party.

David was an inspiration to all of us, a tireless volunteer giving selflessly of his time and talent to advance the goals of the Party. A proud indigenous Canadian and successful entrepreneur, he embodied conservative principles of self-reliance, morality and providing the means to those in need to help themselves. David’s generosity was not limited to the Party, he was an enthusiastic contributor to many causes and organizations. Amongst his joys were his family, educating northerners about the principals of conservatism, incorporating golf into his business trips and a Friday afternoon game of darts at the local pub.

In that respect, this award recognizes a volunteer who has shown the dedication, selflessness, and passion once reflected by David in his work. The award acts not merely as recognition, but also as a reminder to all Conservatives of the exemplary legacy left behind by David. Just as David McPherson continues to live through this award, may his bright legacy continue to shine within every volunteer who strives to achieve excellence for our party and country.

Awarded to an individual who has shown exemplary leadership, hard work and dedication in the fulfillment of the role of EDA President. EDA Presidents throughout the country are expected to represent and organize their riding associations on behalf of the members of their respective communities, driven by their own motivation as Conservative volunteers and supporters. This award will recognize the EDA President who has excelled most in recent years, and especially during the 2015 General Election campaign.

Awarded to a young individual who has demonstrated selfless dedication and an outstanding record in volunteer work, both in their communities and on the campaign trail. This award acts not only as a token of recognition, but also as an encouragement to all young Conservative volunteers who hope to aid in the strengthening and building of our Party.

Awarded to an individual who has demonstrated unmatched merit in their efforts of outreach on behalf of the Party. This award recognizes the accomplishments made in outreach to local communities, and the successful integration of community members in the Party.

Awarded to an individual who has shown outstanding work on the campaign trail in the co-ordination of volunteers in for their local campaign. This award recognizes the outstanding effort put into the establishment of a volunteer base, and its subsequent usage, during the 2015 General Election campaign.

Recognizes an individual who has taken their role beyond what is expected of an EDA Financial Agent. The recipient will have shown a remarkable track record over the years maintaining the finances of their board, and setting a strong example for others to strive towards. This individual must also embody the organizational ability required to ensure regulatory requirements are always met.

The Outstanding Financial Agent Award

Awarded to an individual who has demonstrated both dedication and capability in their fulfillment of the role of Conservative Campus Club President. It is the duty of a campus club president to oversee the organization of activism in order to boost the appeal of the Conservative message to young university students on campuses throughout the country. A campus club president must demonstrate the virtues of leadership, Party ideals, and camaraderie with all members of our Conservative movement. This award recognizes the effort of the campus club president who has helped to achieve great strides in campus club activism, as well as invigorate the Conservative community on campus.
