Here are some key dates and times: On-site Registration will open on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 1:00 PM PST, followed by the Opening Ceremonies at 7:00 PM PST. The convention wraps up on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 5:30 PM PST, after the Closing Ceremonies.

Registration

The Conservative Party has made special arrangements with the following hotels to provide Convention attendees with the lowest hotel rates possible. Space in downtown Vancouver is limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

Tours

Sunset Dinner Cruise · 6-10PM CA$130/person

It’s like dining in a restaurant which looks out onto all of Vancouver’s finest views. Enjoy a 2.5 hour leisurely cruise past the downtown skyline, the cruise ship terminal of Canada Place, the Mountains of the North Shore, Stanley Park and more. Take in the sights and sounds of the city while cruising past the magnificent skyline at night as you enjoy live music and delicious West Coast-themed cuisine. You will enjoy the evening under a star-lit sky as the moon reflects off the Pacific. You’ll have the best spot in Vancouver to watch the sun slowly disappear into the Pacific Ocean.

An enjoyable tour aboard a deluxe motorcoach that promises a diverse and interesting sampling of the city sights.

The adventure begins with a drive through world famous Stanley Park, a 1,000 acre forest set in the heart of downtown. The Park’s scenic drive includes a stop at Totem Poles and Prospect Point, providing excellent views of the North Shore and Lions Gate Bridge.

The guests will pass by the beautiful English Bay area, one of Vancouver’s most diverse neighborhoods. Other tour highlights include Yaletown, Granville Island and exotic Chinatown, the second largest such community in North America with the final stop in Gastown with its quaint cobblestone streets, steam clock and unique shops all housed in turn-of-the-century buildings.

VANCOUVER ART GALLERY TOUR · 6-8PM CA$97/person

This tour will give participants the opportunity to explore the largest art museum in Western Canada, the Vancouver Art Gallery, located at a 15-minute walk from the Vancouver Convention Centre.

On that day, the Gallery will be hosting “MashUp: The Birth of Modern Culture”, a ground-breaking exhibition that will offer an international survey of mashup culture, documenting the emergence and evolution of a mode of creativity that has grown to become the dominant form of cultural production in the early 21st century.

Participants will have exclusive access to the 3rd floor, where the main topic will be: The Post-War: Cut, Copy and Quotation in the Age of Mass Media Andy Warhol to Dara Birnbaum

After the private tour of the exhibition, the group will walk back to the Convention Centre.

Grouse Mountain Tour · 6-9:30PM CA$120/person

This tour will surprise participants with the natural beauty of Vancouver’s North Shore and spectacular city, mountain and ocean views.

A deluxe motor-coach will take you along the Stanley Park causeway and over the impressive Lions Gate Bridge to the North Shore, winding up the Capilano Canyon to the base of Grouse Mountain, where guests ascend by gondola to Grouse’s 3,700 foot high vantage point. Enjoy a breathtaking view of Vancouver and the Gulf Islands as you explore the summit.

Participants will have time to grab a bite at the Lupins Café overlooking the grandeur of the Lower Mainland.

Asian Heritage Month Dinner · 6-9PM CA$50/person

Guests will enjoy a splendid 10-course dinner in one of Vancouver’s finest Chinese restaurants, located minutes from the Vancouver Convention Centre in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Featuring signature tastes from across Asia, this evening is in honour of Asian Heritage month in Canada. What’s more? MPs from BC and across Canada will be joining you for this evening of delightful food and conversation. No host bar.

Through the Maple Leaf Awards, the Conservative Party of Canada recognizes outstanding contributions by individuals and EDAs towards our efforts to prepare for, and win, election campaigns.

To recognize these outstanding individuals and EDAs, we invite you to submit nomination(s). Submissions must be received by Friday, April 15th, 2016 at 11:59PM Eastern to be included for consideration by the Awards Committee.
