Ex-Ohio sorority girl found guilty of aggravated murder after throwing newborn in the

Emile Weaver, 21, (pictured) was found guilty of aggravated murder on Friday after she wrapped her newborn in a bag and threw her out near a trash can at Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio. Weaver, who was also found guilty on three other counts, has not been sentenced and can face life in prison without parole. Weaver testified on Friday that she was in denial about her pregnancy, even though her sorority sisters noticed she had gained weight, wore baggier clothing, and often held a pillow in front of her stomach. Weaver told jurors she denied the rumors so many times she believed 'none of this was happening.' The court also heard a recorded interview with investigators where Weaver recounted giving birth on the toilet at about 8am on April 22, 2015, left the bathroom to get a knife to cut the umbilical cord, and returned thinking the baby had died because it showed no signs of movement. She texted the man she thought was the father a few hours later and said it had been 'taken care of' and that there was 'no more baby'. Days later, she went to a hospital in West Virginia with her mom saying she had a miscarriage, even though medical tests showed she had carried the baby to full term.
