She might be 18, but Ariel Winter has been working hard since she was just six years old.

And having now gained access to her earnings, the teen star is looking to invest - spending Tuesday house hunting with her sister. 

The flame-haired Modern family star was dressed down as she was seen in Los Angeles.

She tied her long red locks into a low pony-tail as she was seen applying some lipstick during the brief outing.

Her sister Shanelle Workman was at her side, no doubt advising her sibling.

The 37-year-old was Ariel's legal guardian from the ages of 14 to 17 until she became emancipated last year.

It's no secret that Ariel has had a tough relationship with her parents.

On Mother's Day the teen star shared a picture of herself with her sister, and paid tribute to Shanelle - herself a former child star. 

Writing on photo sharing platform Instagram, Ariel explained: 'To this insanely beautiful woman inside and out, my sister, my best friend, I love you so much.

'You are the most amazing mother I've ever known and we are all so grateful for you!'
