Keary left the camp in the early hours of the morning after a heated exchange with the Hollywood actor in which it is alleged that Crowe told Keary that he wasn't earning his pay packet.

'I tell you what, if the opportunity ever comes up for you, just do not do it,' Crowe told Kimmel.

'Investment wise, money wise, it's doing pretty good, but the emotional investment is very difficult.

'When you're just a fan, you get to say anything about anyone. If someone disappoints you, you can get Tourettes about that fella.

'When you're the boss, you've got to be very circumspect and you have to be very even with all the players all the time and curb your passion a little bit.'

When questioned if his children supported the team or if they wanted to support a different team Crowe was quick witted in his response.

'My youngest had that concept about three of four years ago,' Crowe said.

'He came to me and said he'd been discussing it at school and he might follow such and such a team and I was very even about it and explained to him that I thought it was going to be quite difficult given his age and the promiximity to school - rent's quite high in the area.

'And also as he wasn't au fait with even a microwave at that stage, I wasn't quite sure how he was going to feed himself.'

Crowe said that his children support the team but years earlier had asked to support a different team to which Crowe jokingly told them they wouldn't be able to live in his house if they did
