The 1999 teen drama - also featuring Reese Witherspoon, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe -  catapulted Selma to stardom after she portrayed complicated yet privileged Cecile Caldwell.

Quite the multi-tasker, the mother-of-one carried a blush coloured handbag on her right shoulder and a large bag of shopping in a recyclable shopper in her left hand.

A lover of fitness, the Michigan native ensured she ditched every slither of make-up and opted to clad the rest of her body in work-out gear.

Wearing a pair of cropped leggings under Nike shorts and a black top with a blue logo, she walked forth in a pair of comfortable black trainers and looked ready for an upcoming exercise class.

Her silver-haired male companion- whose identity is yet to be confirmed - looked the epitome of casual in a pair of blue jeans and navy sweater as he balanced a set of toilet-roll, along with a bag of shopping.

The good-looking mystery man has made regular appearances by the Anger Management star's side and so far it seems as if they are taking their fledgling romance slow.

Selma's last serious relationship was with fashion designer Jason Bleick, whom she dated from 2010 to 2012 and had her son Arthur, four.

The talented screen siren has been concentrating on her latest work endeavours.

She ditched her usual gym gear for a stunning wrap-around white satin full-length dress for the Mothers And Daughters' Hollywood premiere late last month.

Posing up a storm along with her co-star Sharon Stone, Selma looked right in her element for the flick which is described by IMDB as: 'Interwoven stories of what it is to be a mom seen through the lens of photographer Rigby Gray.'

Earlier this year, it was revealed the film's TV series sequel has been picked up by NBC for a pilot order, which could subsequently result in the teenage romance making it into production.

Despite sequels to the film being both critical and commercial flops, TV bosses have given the go-ahead for a pilot to be made of the series - which is set 15 years after events in the film.

The original film saw Sebastian Valmont enter a wager with his step-sister Kathryn Merteuil that he can de-flower their Manhattan prep school's new headmaster's daughter before the start of term.

However, a snag occurs when Sebastian (Ryan Phillippe) falls in love with the object of the game Annette (Reese Witherspoon), much to the ire of Katherine (Sarah Michelle Gellar).

According to both Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, the premise of the series is a spin-off surrounding Sebastian and Annette's son, Bash Casey, and an older but no-less evil Katherine.

A synopsis for the film states the series 'Follows the beautiful and cunning Kathryn Merteuil as she vies for control of Valmont International as well as the soul of Bash Casey, the son of her brother, who was the late Sebastian Valmont, and Annette Hargrove.

'Upon discovering his late father’s legacy in a hidden journal, Bash is introduced to a world of sex, money, power and corruption he never could have imagined.'

TV executives will possibly be hoping to replicate the success of the original movie, which was a boxoffice success, grossing $75million on a $10.5million budget - while kick-starting the careers of all involved.
