'Those were the days!' Screen star Joan Collins, 82, shares stunning throwback snap of herself flaunting an incredible figure in a tiny white bikini on the beach in 1978

Bombshell Dame Joan Collins may have a phenomenal figure at the age of 82, but the legendary star still reminisces about her younger days as a bikini babe.

The Dynasty star took to Instagram on Thursday to share a throwback photo of herself showing off her flawless figure in a white bikini on the beach when she was 44 years old.  

'In #Acapulco 1978 - those were the days! #throwbackthursday,' she captioned the amazing photo, which sees her posed with her hand on her hips.

In true '70s style, Joan accessorized her tiny bikini with a matching white Adidas visor and gold chains around her neck and belly. 

The British actress held her sunglasses in her hand as she smiled confidently in the image, which was taken just three years before she landed the role of Alexis Carrington in the iconic '80s soap opera Dynasty. 

Earlier in the week Joan donned a bright pink dress, black cape, and statement hat as she joined actress Gemma Arterton at a garden party celebrating the 40th anniversary of Britain’s youth charity The Prince’s Trust.

Old friends: The Dynasty star shook hands with Prince Charles, who made her a Dame last spring 

Prince Charles, the founder of the organization, took a moment to shake Joan's hand at the event, where he was presented with a bronze of him sculpted by artist Lady Frances Petchey.

Last spring, the Prince of Wales made Joan a Dame in a ceremony held at London's Buckingham Palace.

During her appearance on The Graham Norton Show in April, Joan gushed about being made a Dame, call it 'the greatest day of my life'.

'[It was] really extraordinary because to receive it is a great honor and Prince Charles pinned it on me and said very nicely I thought, "It's about time too!"' she recalled.

Joan said that after the ceremony she had a 'wonderful party' with 120 of her closest friends and family, including her now-deceased sister Jackie Collins, brother Bill Collins, her children, and her husband Percy Gibson, who is 32 years her junior. 

Jackie died last September after a six-year battle with breast cancer, which she kept secret from her family and friends.

Joan, who dedicated her latest novel The St. Tropez Lonely Hearts Club to her younger sister, said the famed author was 'very brave' to keep her illness hidden.

'I think if you are a celebrity in Hollywood and there is even the slightest hint that there is something wrong, you will be hounded by the press,' she said. 

'Jackie didn't want that and she wanted to keep herself completely private. She was a very private person despite what she wrote.'

Joan often shares pictures of her travels, her stylish outfits, and memories of her sister on her Instagram page, which has more than 27,000 followers.

Unsurprisingly the glamorous star also appears to be a fan of throwback pictures, and just a few weeks ago, she she shared a stunning beach photo of herself in her younger days.

'Stephen Boyd shows off his strength in #barbados during #Island in The Sun #throwbackthursday,' she captioned the image, which sees the Irish actor lifting her over his shoulder. 

In the playful photo, Joan is balanced on Stephen's shoulder as she smiles at him from above. Once again the brunette beauty is showing off her figure, this time in an orange—high-waisted bikini.
