Jonny Lee Miller cuts a stern figure in a sophisticated all-black ensemble as he continues to film scenes for Trainspotting sequel in Glasgow
Since first portraying Sick Boy in Trainspotting 20 years ago he's found international fame in the likes of Dexter and Elementary.
But Jonny Lee Miller, 43, has returned to the role which catapulted him into the public eye as he continues to shoot scenes for the Trainspotting sequel.
The handsome actor was on set in Glasgow on Thursday along with Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle, 59, and it looked like his character was in a stern mood.

Reprising his role: Jonny Lee Miller, 43, was on set of the Trainspotting sequel in Glasgow on Thursday along with Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle, 59, and it looked like his character was in a stern mood
Dressed in a sophisticated double-breasted charcoal overcoat, Jonny paced in front of a large cast iron gate with his hands tucked in his pockets.
He teamed the coat with a black shirt, suit trousers and some stylish black loafers. The dark ensemble only drew more attention to his peroxide blonde hairdo.
The star held up a USB stick while gazing intently through the gaps in the gate, presumably to encourage whoever was on the other side to let him in.
Stern: Miller has thrown himself back into the role which catapulted him into the public eye as he continues to shoot scenes for Trainspotting 2
Solitary man: Dressed in a sophisticated double-breasted charcoal overcoat, Jonny paced in front of a large cast iron gate with his hands tucked in his pockets
Tongue in cheek: Jonny screwed up his face as he stood in the drizzly conditions
In between filming, Jonny was spotted deep in conversation with Boyle, no doubt discussing how to produce the best possible performance.
Meanwhile, Ewan Bremner, who plays Spud, filmed scenes alongside real life carpenter's on a Lovell building site in Wester Hailes, Edinburgh.
In the scene, Spud receives a telling off after arriving late for work, although fans of the original film will no doubt be impressed he's managed to land a job following his disastrous interview in the first film while high on drugs.Â
The new film, based on Trainspotting follow-up Porno, is being adapted by screenwriter John Hodge for the big screen and is being shot on location in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The sequel is set 10 years after Trainspotting and sees the original characters cross paths again, but in the pornography business.

In a recent interview with Collider, Hollywood heavyweight Ewan said of the forthcoming film: 'We haven't started yet, we start shooting at the end of May. The script only arrived very recently, which was really, really, really good.
'I think, if that had not happened, none of us would be into it. I think we're all sort of somewhat protective of what Trainspotting means to people, and what it means to us.'
The 45-year-old actor also insisted he wouldn't have signed up for the sequel if it hadn't had an 'extraordinary script'.
Ewan added: 'None of us want to make a poor sequel to it. So had we not been presented with the most extraordinary script, which we were, I think we wouldn't be making the sequel. But because we were, we are.'
Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting sequel will be titled T2 and will be released on January 27 next year.Â
