After his old job again? Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan channels 007 star Daniel Craig as he emerges from the sea shirtless

His 007 days came to an end over a decade ago.

But Pierce Brosnan definitely still has what it takes, channelling his replacement Daniel Craig as he emerged from the sea shirtless during a family holiday with his wife Keely Shaye Smith in Hawaii.

The 63-year-old Hollywood actor had a James Bond moment as he strolled along the sand, looking just as cool, calm and collected as the suave spy.

Pierce looked handsome as ever as he soaked up the sun on holiday, proving he's still in shape as he enjoyed a dip in the ocean.

The star sported a casual pair of board shorts and wore a stone pendant around his neck for his swim.

He put on a loving display with his wife of 15 years, journalist Keely Shaye, cuddling up in the sea and splashing around together.

Brosnan was signed for a three-film Bond deal with the option of a fourth, taking on the role in box office hits GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day.

This comes after Daniel reportedly revealed he is ‘done’ playing 007, sources claim.

Insiders said Craig turned down a £68million offer from MGM studio to return as Bond for two more films following last year’s hit Spectre.

The sum included endorsements, profit shares, and a role for him working as a co-producer.

One LA film source told the Daily Mail. ‘Daniel is done – pure and simple – he told top brass at MGM after Spectre. They threw huge amounts of money at him, but it just wasn’t what he wanted.’

He added: ‘He had told people after shooting that this would be his final outing, but the film company still felt he could come around after Spectre if he was offered a money deal.’

The news comes just days after bookmakers called off bets on Cambridge-educated Tom Hiddleston becoming the next James Bond.

Craig is the highest-paid actor to play the role, netting a reported total of £38million for the four films he has appeared in.

Craig, 48, told interviewers last year that he would rather ‘slash my wrists’ than agree to another Bond film.

Hiddleston is now the hot favourite to play the suave spy, rising ahead of the likes of Damian Lewis and Idris Elba.

Last week, he was reportedly spotted deep in conversation with Skyfall and Spectre director Sam Mendes and Bond co-producer Barbara Broccoli.

This was followed by a flurry of bets being placed on him being the next 007, with bookmakers Coral eventually suspending betting.

But the Night Manager star told the Daily Mail it was nothing but speculation.

He insisted: ‘It’s a weird thing to have to deal with. I’m having unreal conversations with people about this because I don’t know where the rumours have sprung from.

‘It’s difficult, because everyone has very strong opinions about Bond, and who should play him. My name is just an idea in people’s minds, yet it’s becoming overwhelming.

'I have no power to stop it, but I wish I could convince everyone that the whole thing is news to me.’
