But, in case that wasn't abundantly clear, Katy Perry sparkled when she performed at the amfAR gala in Cannes on Thursday.

The 31 year-old took to the stage in a show-stopping ensemble as she capped the twenty-third annual fundraiser.

Ensuring she was the centre of attention, the brunette beauty stepped out in a fringed fringed lamé cape and over-the-knee boots.

Scraping her hair back into the trademark high ponytail, her glittery make-up was heavily applied for maximum drama and was exacerbated by a brushed silver choker.

Keen to colour co-ordinate every aspect of the look, she even clutched a gold microphone while flanked by a lametta curtain.

Clearly feeling confident as she performed for the crowd, the American star writhed around with her troupe of dancers in matching outfits.

There, she recited her myriad hits, which include California Girls, Firework and the Cathy Dennis-penned I Kissed A Girl.

Each year, the glitzy amfAR fundraiser raises money for AIDs research.

After posing up a storm on the red carpet, the celebrities made their way into a lavish dinner which is followed by a no expense spared auction, with last year's event raising a staggering $30 million.

The event, which takes place just outside of Cannes, will also feature Kirsten Dunst, Vanessa Paradis and Donald Sutherland who are serving as chairs for the Cannes Film Festival Jury.
