Dax Shepard 'freaked out' and took extreme measures the last time his wife Kristen Bell suffered a pregnancy scare.

'I was like, "We're going to turn into Jon & Kate Plus 8 or something. We already have no life! This is going to be not worth living,"' the 41-year-old actor recalled on Wednesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The Michigan-born couple - who began their romance in 2007 - are already parents to daughters Lincoln, 3, and Delta, 17 months.

But the feeling was mutual for Bell last year when she revealed, 'We don’t want to be outnumbered. We're gonna cap it at two,' on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The sloth enthusiast and The 6ft3in funnyman - who's been sober since 2004 - have also acted together in the films Veronica Mars, Hit and Run, and When in Rome.
