No words needed! Kristen Stewart and Alicia Cargile hold hands as they jet back into Los Angeles while still staying mum on their relationship status

Hold on tight, looks like this star's road to love is as bumpy as always.

Kristen Stewart and her rumoured on again girlfriend Alicia Cargile touched down in Los Angeles and looked very much the couple on Thursday.

While the pair have so far not confirmed if they are dating, looks like their sojourn to France certainly was a happy one.

Kristen came very close to breaking into a fully-fledged smile - something she is notorious for not doing - as she and Alicia walked out of the arrivals terminals of LAX.

The 26-year-old star gripped hold of her former assistant's hand, looking proud to have her by her side once again.

Last year it was widely speculated that the pair were more than just boss and assistant, but neither ever commented on their relationship and after a while Alicia seemed out of the picture.

Kristen was linked to French singer Soko, who made thinly-veiled public declarations of her love for the Twilight star.

Staying put? And by the looks of things, Kristen plans to have Alicia by her side for some time to come as unlike when she was spotted out with ex Soko, it was Kristen initiating contact rather than the other way round

However, they split less than two weeks ago and despite Soko being at the Cannes Film Festival - she is also an actress - it was Alicia who was by Kristen side constantly as she promoted her new film Personal Shopper.

And by the looks of things, Kristen plans to have Alicia by her side for some time to come as unlike when she was spotted out with Soko, it was Kristen initiating contact rather than the other way round.

Instead of doing her best to avoid the cameras, Kristen seemed to take the large group of dedicated airport snappers in her stride.

For her flight, the actress wore basically the same look that she had been wearing when she and Alicia had flown out of Nice airport earlier on Thursday.

Kristen ditched her Saint Laurent leather jacket and sweater in preparation for LA's heat, but was still wearing the same distressed jeans with a cropped white vintage T-shirt.

The star accessorized her look with two chain necklaces with padlocks on them, round lens sunglasses and a pair of her favourite black and white checked Vans sneakers.

Knows her well: Alicia brought along the star's favourite sneaks so Kristen could change at the American Honey premiere on Sunday

Alicia was kind enough to carry the same sneakers for Kristen when they stepped out on the American Honey premiere red carpet during the festival.

As the actress is notorious for ditching her heels at any big event, the woman who knows her best made sure to have something ready for when she did.

Kristen - who does not feel the need to define her sexuality - has not had the best track record when it comes to love.

She's been one of Cannes best dressed this season no doubt about it, and each time Kristen Stewart steps out at the event, her outfits keep getting better.

It seems Chanel is the designer label of choice for the young actress as she showed off her second look from the brand today. After wowing in a metallic mini dress from their 2016 ready to wear collection earlier, the stylish star chose an equally fabulous white feather sleeved look as she took to the red carpet again this evening. We can't decide which style we like best on Kristen, with her long legs and slender figure the mini dress is a great shape for her, but the quirky sleeves on this white dress have won us over.

Aside from the apparent on and off again nature of hers and Alicia's relationship, she also had a very rocky pairing with her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson.

The pair were Hollywood's sweethearts but the world was left shocked after pictures emerged of Kristen having an affair with her married Snow White And The Huntsman director, Robert Sanders, who was almost 20 years her senior.

Rob and Kristen would go on to give it another try but split once again just a few months later.
