Authorities had feared flight MS804 was likely to have been the victim of a terrorist bomb attack when it plunged into the Mediterranean on Thursday. But now a more complex picture is emerging as experts sifted through new data yesterday, making an electronics fire a possible explanation. While the new information made terrorism seem 'less likely', it had still not been ruled out last night. A new graphic of the disaster shows that at 00.26 GMT the failure of a temperature sensor in a cockpit window is the first of a series of malfunctions thought to be related to a fire. At the same time another sensor transmits data saying smoke has been detected in a toilet. A minute later, smoke is detected below the cockpit, where the aircraft's electronics are stationed. The plane then turns left and right and starts to plummet before authorities lose track of it at 10,000ft.

Makalaya Zanders, who attends Garfield Heights High School in Cleveland, Ohio, (pictured left and with her date, right) decided she would wear an Ankara print gown to prom this year, despite any critics. Working with local designer DeAndre' Crenshaw, Makalaya said the he brought her vision of Ankara fabric to life, creating a prom dress that garnered thousands of fans on social media. The royal blue java Ankara print grown featured a front slit and mermaid bottom, and the full look was completed with a hand-made structural waist belt. Queensland teenager Alyssa Azar has become the youngest Australian to conquer Mount Everest after reaching the peak of the world's highest mountain on Saturday. The 19-year-old had been denied the opportunity on two previous attempts due to bad weather. In 2014 Ms Azar, from Toowoomba in Queensland, abandoned her first attempt after an avalanche killed 16 Sherpas. In her second attempt the following year, she was at the Mount Everest base camp when Nepal was hit by an earthquake which killed over 3000 people.

Prince (main) appeared to have been dead for more than six hours before he was found in an elevator at his Paisley Park estate, the Star Tribune reported. Emerging details surrounding the iconic musician's last day suggest several desperate attempts to save Prince amidst a 'medical emergency'. A staff member reportedly called his former manager for advice on April 20 as his health declined following an overdose five days before, a source told the Tribune. She enlisted the help of opioid addiction specialist Dr. Howard Kornfeld less than 12 hours before his death, according to the Tribune. Prince also received intravenous treatment at a local hospital and saw a physician at Paisley Park (bottom right) the day before he died, sources told the Tribune. Kornfeld's son Andrew Kornfeld (top right) took a red-eye flight and arrived at the Chanhassen, Minnesota estate for a preliminary evaluation only to call 911 at 9.43am on April 21 when Prince's body was found, sources said. Autopsy reports determining the cause of death are still pending.

Over the years the property became Australia's first theological seminary, a maternity hospital, a pickle factory, a broom factory and notably the Australian Nazi Party headquarters during the 1960s and 1970s when Arthur Smith (left) was the leader of the National Socialist Party. Police have released CCTV footage of a man suspected of vandalising a NSW police memorial in the Domain in Sydney, showing him tumbling off his skateboard into oncoming traffic. The memorial was scratched, with marks left over the NSW Police Crest and five panels with named of deceased police officers. The man, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s is said to be of Caucasian appearance, 175-180cm tall with a medium build and brown hair and was wearing black clothing and black sneakers.

These astonishing images show the amazing work being done at the International Centre for Birds of Prey in England. The centre, in Newent, Gloucestershire, was set up in 1967. It treats injured and orphaned wild birds, rehabilitating them before they can be released. It is also involved in one of the largest captive breeding programmes in the world.

The reptile, named Freddy, was found in a bad way by vets in Brazil with his shell completely destroyed (left), things were looking bleak but thankfully a group of superhero surgeons came to his aid. The cohort, known as the Animal Avengers, built Freddy a new hull by using 3D printed prosthetic with pieces that slotted together like a jigsaw(top right and bottom right). Vet Cicero Moraes, said: 'Freddy was the first tortoise in the world to receive a fully rebuilt hull and the first creature that we, as a newly formed group of animal rescuers, decided to help.'

Matt Silverman (top right) gave a funky rendition of A-Ha's 1985 classic Take On Me with his three-year-old daughter Amelia (left and bottom right) in an adorable new video. With New York-based Matt blasting out the vocals and playing the guitar, the youngster showed off her xylophone skills and even chimed in with some well-timed ad-libs. Alongside the Youtube video - which garnered over 25,000 views, Matt wrote: 'We're taking you back to 1985 with the brilliant classic 'Take on Me' by a-ha.'

Paul de Gelder lost his leg and right forearm in the 2009 attack during a routine anti-terrorism training exercise off Garden Island in Sydney Harbour.
