Sister act: Filming begins on BBC's lavish new Bronte drama To Walk Invisible as cast take over York in their beautiful period costumes
Fresh from the huge success of their adaptation of War & Peace, work has begun on the BBC's latest literary drama.
To Walk Invisible: The Bronte Sisters, written and directed by the award winning Sally Wainwright (Happy Valley, Last Tango In Halifax), has begun shooting, with the streets of York transformed this week for the one off, two hour drama.
Finn Atkins, who plays Charlotte Bronte and Charlie Murphy, who has been cast as her younger sister Anne, were both spotted on set on Thursday in their elaborate 19th century costumes.

The actresses walked arm in arm through the streets in beautiful corseted dresses and full skirts in patterned satins.
Among the bonnets and petticoats though, 21st century life peeked through as in between scenes Finn was seen snapping photos on her phone while clutching her thick script.
Actors and extras also tucked into a hearty meal as shots were set up on the huge production, with a stunt team van spotted parked up in preparation.

Emily Brontë, author of the ground-breaking Wuthering Heights, will be played by Chloe Pirrie, who starred in the BBC's War & Peace earlier this year.
