The songstress explained: 'Dory's story makes me teary. When Ellen asked me, I couldn't refuse!'

Unforgettable provides an apt tribute to the character in the end credits as Dory, who is voiced by Ellen, has become known for her lack of memory.

Originally, the song was written by Irving Gordon and made famous in the 1950's by Nat King Cole, and again in 1992 it won a Grammy Award, when Natalie Cole turned it into a duet as a tribute to her late father.

Finding Dory follows on from where Finding Nemo ended 13 years ago, and focuses on telling the story of the forgetful fish, Dory.

The film is set six months after the events of Finding Nemo and is set back where Dory was born, at the Marine Biology Institute of California, not on the Great Barrier Reef - where the first movie was set.

Dory's main focus for the film is finding her parents and like most Disney-Pixar films there will no-doubt be some tear-jerking moments and a heart-warming ending.

Ellen DeGeneres used her bright and bubbly personality to bring the character alive in the first film, and will no-doubt do the same in the upcoming film.
