Just face it! Lupita Nyong'o grins as she unveils a flattering caricature of herself

Lupita Nyong'o has joined the likes of Lucille Ball and Tom Hanks, becoming the latest celebrity to unveil her caricature at the iconic Sardi's restaurant in New York City.

The restaurant has been the home to countless celebrity caricatures for decades, so no doubt Lupita was thrilled to join the ranks.

The 33-year-old's caricature was unveiled in full at the eatery on Thursday, and Lupita certainly seemed to approve of the one-of-a-kind drawing.

The portrait appeared to be modelled after Lupita's outfit from the 2014 Academy Awards, as the artwork featured the exact same headband and earrings.   

Holding the artwork at arms length, Lupita flashed a wide and nearly giddy grin as she admired the drawing.

The actress also presented the portrait for photographers, smiling once more as she stood tall in her baby blue heels paired with sheer leggings and a floral print dress. 

Before heading out, Lupita made sure to scrawl her autograph upon the portrait - after all, signature by the subject is required to join the wall.

Lupita's caricature will join the countless others which hang inside Sardi's restaurant, a list which includes stars such as Daniel Radcliffe, Jane Fonda, Billy Crystal, and Mia Farrow.

Now Lupita is making her mark on Broadway, starring on the smash hit Eclipsed as 'The Girl.'

The role has garnered her a Tony nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play.

The play, set in 2003, tells the story of five women near the end of the Second Liberian Civil War.

It is almost entirely set in a small one-room shack where three of the women are being held by the Commanding Officer of a rebel faction, who basically uses them as sex slaves. 

Aside from her work on Broadway, Lupita is also in talks to join Chadwick Boseman in the upcoming blockbuster, Black Panther, according to Variety.  

If Oscar winner Lupita joins the Marvel franchise she will play the love interest for Chadwick‘s character T’Challa/Black Panther.

Marvel first debuted the Black Panther character in Captain America: Civil War, while the standalone movie is set for February 16, 2018.
