Tina, 32, reprised her role as the former teenage tearaway earlier this year and her character soon became romantically involved with Callum (Sean Ward) against her brother's advice.

However, Weatherfield’s resident bad boy wreaked havoc on Sarah's life and met a gruesome end during the special edition of the ITV soap.

The explosive story-line culminated in Callum holding Sarah hostage in her own living room, threatening to hurt her if her brother David and his wife Kylie (Paula Lane) didn’t cough up the cash he’d asked for.

Nail-biting scenes saw Sarah and Callum involved in a violent struggle and it seemed the blonde beauty wouldn't escape his clutches alive – until Kylie made a surprise return from the Rovers Return to save the day.

She bashed her ex over the head with a wrench as he tried to strangle Sarah, leaving him for dead on the Platt’s living room floor.

‘I hated him, but I loved him once’, she declared, looking down at Callum's body.

While Sarah panicked and tried to call for an ambulance, Kylie was adamant they shouldn’t get the police involved, instead burying him under the cobbles.
