TV favourites Richard Madeley, 60, and Judy Finnigan, 68, put on a casual display as they enjoy a day out together

They've traded in their sparkling TV careers for a more relaxed lifestyle.

And Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan looked relaxed indeed as they enjoyed a day out together in north London on Friday.

The couple each cut a casual figure as they walked alongside one another, with columnist Richard, 60, clutching a pile of newspapers as they walk close to one another.

Judy opted for a pared-back look for the jaunt in an all-black ensemble comprised of a form-fitting black T-shirt that was layered beneath a billowing cardigan.

She slipped her legs into a pair of comfortable black leggings and instilled a pop of colour into the style with pink T-bar sandals.

The 68-year-old broadcaster apparently hadn't anticipated the hot British weather as she toted a large padded jacket with a fur-lined hood in her hand.

Richard looked even more laid-back in a distressed jeans and a white T-shirt that was a tribute to the Alzheimer's Society.

Although the couple are still often on TV, they have thrown themselves into novel writing over the past few years.

They had already co-written their autobiography in 2002, before Richard wrote about his family history in Fathers And Son six years later.

However, Judy was the first to turn her hand to novel writing with her first novel Eloise becoming a Sunday Times best seller in 2012.

She followed up with I Do Not Sleep in 2015.

Meanwhile, Richard is currently promoting his third novel The Night Book, a thrilled set in the Lake District which is published next month.

He's already released Some Day I'll Find You and The Way You Look Tonight in recent years.
