As tales of piracy go, the one involving supermodel Kendall Jenner is about as swashbuckling as it gets.

I’m told that 20-year-old Kendall – a member of the famous Kardashian clan – was invited to join a party on board the Octopus, the 400ft mega-yacht owned by billionaire Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. 

It seems that as Kendall stood on a jetty waiting for a tender to take her to one of Cannes’ most coveted events, a vessel arrived and the crew told her to climb aboard.

Kendall Jenner has been dazzling in Cannes, whether it's on the red carpet, on a yacht(real or fake), she looks nothing short of fabulous.

She boarded this questionable boat during the Cannes Film Festival looking like a true doll.

Her high pony tail, long legs and insanely detailed dress left us in awe.

Kendall must have assumed they were members of Allen’s staff, but instead of taking her to join megastars such as Sir Mick Jagger, Katy Perry, Kate Moss and Mark Rylance, it took her to another, far less superior vessel. 

It was then the model realised, to her horror, that she had been duped by what she later described as some ‘random Eurotrash guys’. 

Fortunately, she eventually persuaded her highly amused host to take her back to dry land.

Bizarrely, Kendall was the victim of another hoax during the festival when a French reporter appeared to faint during an interview with her.

As the man fell dramatically, some members of Kendall’s entourage panicked, thinking he had been shot and that she was also in the line of fire. 

But like a true pro, she quickly regained her composure and walked off – leaving the reporter on the floor.

 

The starlet everyone was talking about in Cannes was Ellie Bamber, pictured with me.

Ellie, 19, has just been cast as a 14-year-old in Tom Ford’s film Nocturnal Animals alongside Jake Gyllenhaal but she tells me: ‘Looking like a child is so annoying – I’m always checked for ID in bars, so I have to ask other people to buy me drinks.’ 

I could think of worse things!
