It was almost immediately apparent why the star was being awarded the night's biggest honour, the Millennium Award, as she gave fans exactly what they asked for and more.

As she stepped out onto the stage as the night's first live performance, initially the superstar looked a little nervous.

Clad in a circus-inspired sequined ensemble complete with top hat and over-the-knee boots, the singer kicked off her greatest hits medley on a raised platform.

Opening with her 2013 hit Work B***h, at first Britney seemed a little in her own head as she did the complicated dance moves.

Strutting down the platform it was clear she planned to do exactly what her song said and 'work'.

And she certainly had the hot body she sang about too, ditching her saucy ring master look, Brit turned up the heat even more.
