She could not be prouder of her beau but after a week of non-stop travelling, this star just needed some time with her family.

Bella Hadid opted to spend Sunday in Los Angeles, California, rather than jet out to Las Vegas, Nevada, to be with boyfriend The Weeknd at the Billboard Music Awards.

The 19-year-old only just got back into the country after being in France for the Cannes Film Festival.

Perhaps not feeling like getting on yet another plane and also wanting to spend some quality time with father Mohamed Hadid, the model went for a quite lunch in Beverly Hills rather than hit yet another red carpet.

That is not to say the star was not thinking of her musician beau who cleaned up at the awards on Sunday night.

Posting a picture of The Weeknd with all eight of his trophies, Bella posted a sweet tribute to the man she knows as Abel Tesfaye.

Bella wrote on Instagram: 'I'm so proud of you baby! ...hardest working man I know and the MOST deserving!!! Pays off!!! Congrats @abelxo.'

After lunch, Mohamed walked his daughter - whom he shares with Yolanda Foster - to the carpark and gave her a big kiss and hug.

The dress, which buttoned at the font, cinched in at the model's waist before flowing out in a feminine and flirty miniskirt with ruffle trim.

The 26-year-old became emotional as he accepted his Top Hot 100 award, dedicating it to the late Prince.

Unable to speak at points in his speech, The Weeknd said: 'I was told not long ago that his last TV appearance he had given me an award [November's American Music Awards]. That was the greatest experience of my entire life and I love him so much.'

'I love him so much. I didn't know him, but he was so close to me. He will always be an inspiration.'
