David Bowie getting up close and personal with Kate Moss goes on display at the UK's largest photo exhibition alongside portraits of Christy Turlington and Pamela Anderson

A stunning picture of the late David Bowie getting up close and personal with supermodel Kate Moss has gone on display at the UK's biggest every photo exhibition.

Photo London at Somerset House gives fans the chance to get a rare glimpse of work loaned from 85 of the world’s top galleries, including the renowned fashion photographer Ellen Von Unwerth's image of Bowie and Moss. 

The image pays homage to the 1966 cult Michelangelo Antonioni film, Blow Up, about a London fashion photographer who becomes embroiled in a murder mystery after accidentally capturing the scene of a crime in one of his pictures.

The image, on loan from the Camera Work Gallery in Berlin features alongside another photo that gives a nod to the late star.

Nick Knight's iconic portrait shows Kate's face painted with the famous lightning bolt from the cover of Bowie's Aladdin Sane album.

Also on loan from Camera Work is a stunning black and white portrait of Christy Turlington.

The naked shot shows the model with a small white mouse perched on her shoulder and was captured by the French fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier.

Another of the photographer's images shows a young Kate Moss posing in nothing but a pair of crocheted bikini bottoms with Carla Bruni, who went on to marry former French presideny Nicolas Sarkozy. 

The image was taken in New York for Photo Magazine in December 1993 when Kate was 19 years old. 

Meanwhile a more colourful shot taken by New York photographer Roe Etheridge of Pamela Anderson shows the former Baywatch star tilting her head back as she nibbles on the end of a bunch of grapes.

Award-winning photographer Martin Schoeller specialises in hyper-detailed close ups of celebrities. 

He has snapped some of the most famous faces in the world including US President Barack Obama, Angelina Jolie and George Clooney. 

His uncompromising portrait of Oscar winning actor Matthew McConaughey gives a more stripped back view of the vivacious actor than we're used to seeing.
