Katherine Jenkins cuts a demure figure in knee-length floral dress for appearance on TV show... and her mother is there too

She recently said that she wanted to continue with her singing career so she could be a positive role model for her baby daughter.

And Katherine Jenkins did just that as she featured on ITV's Weekend TV show, alongside her own biggest inspiration - her mother.

The 35-year-old looked stunning for the appearance as she swapped her typically glamorous floor-length gowns for a demure knee-length frock that was embellished with delicate yellow flowers.

Katherine accentuated her impressive post baby body in the navy dress, which cinched in her tiny waist with a thick, black waistband.

And she added some extra interest to her ensemble with some pretty lacy cap sleeves that cut off just below her shoulders.

The classical singer also seized the opportunity to add some height to her never-ending legs with some towering black heels, which embraced her ankles with delicate strap detailing.

And she made sure to showcase her natural beauty and flawless complexion, with minimal makeup apart from a dash of mascara and a slick of delicate rose lipstick.

But despite her ladylike appearance, Katherine also exhibited her booming mezzo soprano vocal talent, with a powerful rendition of David Bowie's hit track, Heroes.

Katherine's mum, Susan, looked equally glamorous for the TV show as she wore a pleated blue kaftan-style top with slit detailing to draw attention to her youthful decolletage.

However, she decided to dress down her look with a pair of indigo coloured jeans and a short cream mackintosh.

Speaking about her mother to The Daily Express, Katherine said: 'My mum was an amazing role model, she was the bread winner and my dad was the house husband.

'She instilled a really good work ethic in my sister and I, and showed us that no matter what we can be independent as long as we were dedicated. Now I want to be a role model for her.'

Katherine added that she wanted her own daughter, Aaliyah Reign, to be oblivious to her fame so that she could have the most normal childhood possible.

The talented singer conceived Aaliyah just months after marrying American film director and artist Andrew Levitas, and appears to have taken to motherhood like the proverbial duck to water.

She gushed: 'I'm loving it. I'd hoped it would be like this. I'm a maternal person but you don't know how you'll feel. Now I'm in awe of so much of it - what the female body is capable of, how you suddenly know what to do, how to comfort, for instance. My husband and I are in our element.'

Katherine also revealed that she and husband Andrew decided on her baby's name was ease as she explained: 'We wanted something positive, and a little unusual. It's a Middle Eastern name meaning 'blessing' - which she is.
