Blonde swimwear model Mayka Marica Kukucova (pictured, top, in court this morning) broke down in tears as details of Bristol jeweller Andrew Bush' final moments were explained in court. The 48-year-old (left, with Kukucova) died at his home in the Spanish beach resort of Estepona on April 5, 2014. Prosecutors are seeking a 20-year sentence for the 26-year-old blonde, alleging she killed Mr Bush in a jealous rage when he arrived at his coastal retreat with Russian girlfriend Maria Korotaeva (right) three months after he and Kukucova split up. The gold dealer was found dead in a pool of blood at his five-bed rented home in the early hours of the morning. Ms Korotaeva, 20, told detectives his ex was waiting for them in her pyjamas inside Mr Bush's mansion when they arrived for a long weekend from the UK. Kukucova's lawyer says his client acted in self-defence, insisting Bush, 48, threatened her with a gun, the two struggled and the trigger was pulled, according to the Diario Sur newspaper. The trial at the Ciudad de la Justicia in Malaga is expected to last three days.
Austria's Far-Right presidential candidate LOSES his bid to become EU's first anti-immigrant leader as postal votes swing the election against him - by a heart-stopping 0.6%
Austria and the EU had been on tenterhooks this morning as they waited to see whether Hofer had won an election run-off to become the bloc's first anti-immigrant leader. Projected results last night had put both Hofer, presented as the friendly and moderate face of the populist Freedom Party (FPOe), and Alexander Van der Bellen, former head of the Greens, neck-and-neck on 50 percent. But after the final 900,000 postal votes were counted, Van der Bellen this afternoon emerged as the winner. Only a little more than 31,000 votes separated the two, out of more than 4.6 million ballots cast. Hofer wrote on his Facebook page: 'Of course I am sad today. I would have liked to take care of our wonderful country for you as president.'

The process was expected to be long and difficult after forensic workers described the remains as 'unrecognisable'. A source said: 'There is no complete body. There are only body parts. But it is important for the families to be able to bury their loved-ones and to be able to visit their grave to help with the mourning process.' It comes as hundreds of mourners attended memorial services (top left and right) over the weekend for some of the 66 victims of the EgyptAir plane which mysteriously crashed into the Mediterranean on Thursday after an apparent fire on board (inset).
