Taylor Swift's agony as boyfriend Calvin Harris is rushed to hospital after horrific car accident on his way to LAX Airport 

Taylor Swift offered to race to hospital to be with boyfriend Calvin Harris after his horror car smash in LA.

The Shake It Off singer asked her superstar DJ partner if he needed her support after being injured in a collision when driving to LAX Airport on Friday evening.

Harris, 32, was rushed to hospital after the car he was travelling in was rammed by a VW Beetle.

After being seen by doctors, his first phone call was to his multiple Grammy Award winning girlfriend.

Swift, 26, then asked if he wanted her to jet in to see him - but Harris refused, stressing that his injuries were only minor and that he did not want to cause undue concern.

A well-placed source told HollywoodLife.com: 'Taylor was very scared when she got a call from Calvin saying he had been in a terrible accident.

'Her first reaction was to ask if he needed her to be with him, but Calvin told her everything was okay and he was just a little shaken up.'

According to TMZ, the How Deep Is Your Love hit-maker suffered a laceration on his face and was taken to a hospital in Los Angeles. He was forced to cancel a scheduled show on Friday before later pulling out of his headline slot at Alabama's Hangout Music Fest on Saturday.

Law enforcement sources reportedly told the outlet that Calvin was a passenger in a Cadillac SUV when a Volkswagen Beetle convertible crossed the centre line and crashed into the vehicle he was riding in.

It's claimed the impact was so severe that the Beetle, which was allegedly filled with teenagers, saw one young woman ejected from the lap of her boyfriend.   

But despite sustaining acute injuries, it's alleged Calvin left the hospital 'against medical advice' after he was told there were no private rooms available.

MailOnline has contacted Calvin's representatives for comment.

The driver of the colliding vehicle, as well as one other passenger, are also believed to have been taking to hospital for treatment, with the latter reportedly suffering a broken pelvis.

Understandably Calvin has been forced to cancel his upcoming shows, with a message on his official Facebook page reading: 'Adam's transport was involved in a collision this evening on the way to the airport.

'As a result he will be unable to perform at Omnia tonight. He has been examined by doctors and told to rest for a few days - Calvin HQ.'

TMZ later reported that Calvin has been forced to cancel his headline performance at Hangout Fest in Alabama on Saturday night due to his injuries.

The Twitter account for the festival posted on Saturday: 'Calvin Harris is unable to perform tonight. All of us at Hangout wish him and everyone involved in last night's collision a speedy recovery. '

Panic! At the Disco, were were scheduled to perform before Calvin moved into the headline slot, tweeting before their show: 'Wishing all involved in last night's accident a speedy recovery and hope we do you proud, Calvin.'

Fans of the Scottish musician, who is in a relationship with American pop star Taylor Swift, have already been flooding social media sites with well wishes upon hearing the news.

'@CalvinHarris I heard about the accident. Get well soon please. I'm sure @taylorswift13 will take care of you,' one Twitter user wrote, while another gushed: '@CalvinHarris i really hope youre okay....'. 

'Glad to here you're okay @CalvinHarris. I hope you have a speedy recovery. Take care and we love you ❤️ (sic).' wrote another, while one admirer enthused, 'I'm sending to you a lot of good vibes @CalvinHarris'.
