They've been a regular fixture on the TV talk show circuit in recent weeks promoting black comedy The Nice Guys - which has attracted critical praise for their 'irresistible' on-screen chemistry.

And Hollywood stars Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling flaunted their well-documented 'bromance' on Sunday as they appeared together on a popular Italian TV program.

As the pair chuckled their way through what appeared to be a lively and informal discussion, Russell, 52, even jumped from the guests' sofa to have some fun with the studio's camera equipment.

Friendly display: The Nice Guys co-stars Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling flaunted their well-documented 'bromance' on Sunday as they appeared together on a popular Italian TV program in Milan

The Gladiator star looked delightfully dapper in a smart casual ensemble featuring a charcoal blazer over a black T-shirt and denim jeans.

Russell appeared in good spirits while displaying his trademark salt-and-pepper stubble, but it was not immediately obvious from his seated position how his recent weight-loss attempt is progressing.

Meanwhile, his younger co-star Ryan, 35, opted for a light grey jacket over a white shirt left fashionably unbuttoned.

Russell and Ryan appeared to smile and laugh as they filmed an interview for talk show Che Tempo Che Fa in Milan, hosted by Italian personality Fabio Fazio, over the weekend.

Despite placing fourth in the North American box office in its opening weekend, The Nice Guys has nonetheless exceeded expectations and received critical praise.

As of Monday, the film holds a 'certified fresh' rating of 90 per cent on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.

In the film, Russell plays a contract killer to Ryan's private investigator, with the pair working together to solve the mysterious disappearance of an adult film star in 1970s Los Angeles.

Filming for the movie began back in late 2014 in Atlanta and Decatur, Georgia, and additional filming took place in Los Angeles.
