They split four years ago but have maintained a great friendship for the sake of their children.

And Heidi Klum, 42, and her ex husband Seal, 53, certainly looked comfortable together as they caught up at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday night.

The former couple were seen happily chatting with a mutual pal as they stood next to each other inside the celeb-packed T-Mobile Arena.

Heidi, looking gorgeous in a semi sheer black dress, smiled as she talked to the British singer, who was dapper in a blazer and unbuttoned white shirt, during a commercial break in the ceremony.

The German model and Seal split in 2012 with their divorce finalised in 2015. 

Together they co-parent their sons Henry, 10, and Johan, nine, and daughter Lou, six. Seal also adopted Heidi's daughter Leni, 11, during their marriage, who was fathered by F1 mogul Flavio Briatore.

Both the model and singer have moved on with new relationships since their split, with Heidi dating art dealer Vito Schnabel, 29, since 2014.

While the 42-year-old was not joined by her younger boyfriend at Sunday's Billboard Music Awards, she certainly was thinking about him.

The besotted Project Runway host raved about her handsome beau during an interview with E! on the red carpet, telling the news outlet she was 'very much in love'.

'You just feel it and then you know... It's just the whole package that you fall in love with,' she added. 

Meanwhile Seal went public with his partner Erica Packer in July last year, who recently described Seal on Australian TV as 'a very beautiful and magical soul'.

Heidi in turn has praised 'lovely' Erica, the 38-year-old ex wife of Australian billionaire James Packer, in an interview with People magazine.

'I am very happy for Seal,' she said. 'I have met Erica a bunch of times at my children's birthday parties and she is lovely.'
