Legally toned! Reese Witherspoon flaunts her gym-honed body in skin-tight sportswear and neon trainers

Sunday is often regarded as a day of rest and recuperation.

But that wasn't the case for dedicated gym-goer, Reese Witherspoon, who flaunted her toned figure in skin-tight sportswear, while enjoying a jaunt around Los Angeles.

The 40-year-old showed off her incredible physique in her black vest, leggings and vibrant trainers.

And she drew attention to her taut torso with a stand-out white slogan, that read 'nurture nature' alongside the outline of some mountains.

Despite the mainly muted tones of her outfit, the Legally Blonde actress couldn't resist adding a pop of colour to her style with some vivid blue trainers, that she tied up with neon green laces and perfectly coordinated with her ostrich clutch bag.

In contrast, Reese looked as though she was seeing red with a pair of rouge tinted Ray Ban shades and a salmon pink watch.

The mother-of-three remained true to her laid back style in the hair department, as she scraped her trademark golden tresses into a simple high ponytail.

And she looked fresh faced and makeup free as she casually toted her shopping bags on her way back home.

But thanks to the Californian sunshine, Reese had no need to hide her complexion as she sported a beautifully sun kissed tan from head to toe.

Reese has currently been hard at work filming her new mini-series Big Little Lies, which is due to air next year.

The actress is working alongside Nicole Kidman as a co-producer on the limited-run HBO mini-series, and both women are also starring in it.

Big Little Lies tells the story of what happens when the perfect lives of a group of Southern California moms start to unravel.

The series is based on Liane Moriarty's best-selling novel of the same name and also stars.

Reese has several other projects in the works, and is producing an ABC pilot about a 'ruthless divorce attorney' in Dallas, which stars Anna Paquin and Grey's Anatomy's T.R. Knight.

The mother-of-three is also playing Tinker Bell in a live-action Disney movie and will star in Paul Feig's Wish List, about a woman in her thirties whose life takes a turn when a coin she threw into a magic fountain as a child reaches the bottom.

She will additionally appear opposite Matt Damon, Jason Sudeikis, Alec Baldwin and Neil Patrick Harris in 2017 social satire Downsizing, and voices a character in upcoming animated movie Sing.
