Smokin' hot! Heartthrob Johnny Depp, 52, puffs away on a cigarillo as he arrives for interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live

He is one of the most noted heartthrobs of his generation.

And Johnny Depp was looking smoking hot as he puffed away on a cigarillo as he arrived for an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live in Los Angeles on Monday.

The Black Mass star looked in a fine mood as he pranced around the parking lot as he headed into the bustling studio inside the famous Hollywood Masonic Temple.

The actor, who became a teen idol for his turn in hit TV show 21 Jump Street, was looking good for a 52-year-old in a trendy leather jacket, black shirt, baggy jeans and leather boots.

He rounded off his look by wearing a variety of exotic necklaces, a few straggly neckerchiefs and a pair of stylish aviator sunglasses.

Johnny was greeted by some friends as he emerged from his vehicle puffing away on his cigarillo, and then he saluted the fans before heading inside.

Given his caustic style, viewers will be hoping Jimmy quizzes his guest on his infamous speech on the dangers of bringing unquarantined animals into Australia.

Last month his much younger wife Amber Heard, 30, was let off with a good behaviour bond last month after she pleaded guilty to falsifying travel documents to sneak their two Yorkshire Terriers, Pistol and Boo, into the country when Depp was filming the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film.

As part of the plea deal, the couple made an apology to Australia in a short video that was meant to highlight the importance of quarantine to protecting Australia.

Johnny's cringeworth delivery was mocked by the Australian Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce, who said: I don't think he'll get an Academy Award for his performance'.

Johnny is on the promotional trail for Alice Through the Looking Glass, the sequel to Tim Burton's 2010 film Alice In Wonderland.

This time the follow-up, which was made after the original raked in $1 billion at the box office despite lukewarm reviews, is directed by Muppets Most Wanted filmmaker James Bobin.
