The highly-anticipated reunion for Seven Year Switch aired on Monday night, revealing three of the four couples stayed together.

The follow-up show revealed Michelle and Jason had split, Brad and Tallena got hitched, Jackie and Tim are engaged and expecting their first child and Cassie and Ryan are also expecting their third child.

And as the credits for the Channel Seven programme rolled, fans took to social media to slam it as 'unrealistic' and calling the stars 'imbeciles'.

She added the hashtag: 'Glad I'm single'.

Another called chiclifeblog commented: 'This show makes me want to stay single,' adding the hashtag 'Seven Year Switch.'

One fan wrote they were glad the show had ended, venting: 'Well thank f**k that's over. May my eyeballs never see any of these imbeciles again.' 

In particular, some fans took aim at Brad and Tallena for tying the knot after calling Brad 'abusive.'

Brad's selfishness came to the fore throughout the series, when he revealed he would take away Tallena's engagement ring every time they foght.

He also didn't want to splash the cash on the big day and budgeted $1,000 and instead bought himself goods including a $3,000 TV.

One Twitter use therealpeteross noted: 'I'm looking forward to the Brad and Tallena spinoff, Seven Week Marriage.'

Another shared a meme of a hypnotist, writing: 'Look into my eyes Tallena. We are happily married ok?'

Meanwhile minniephotog commented: 'So being married is better than being abused? Way to stick your head in the sand Tallena. Amazing how blind some people are.'

She is now six months pregnant. 

Cassie also revealed she found out she was pregnant days before filming started. 

Engaged parents Michelle and Jason split, with Michelle breaking down in tears. 

'We tried, but at the end of the day, we decided to separate. It got to the stage where we looked at each other and we couldn't try anymore.

'We were just suffering under each other's pressure.'
