Britons still write HALF A BILLION cheques every year says Payments Council

While the numbers of cheques being written out in 2015 fell by 13 per cent on a year earlier, on average, people still write around 10 cheques each every year, Payments UK said. In 2011, MPs forced the Payments Council, which represents the banks, to shelve plans to abolish cheques by 2018.
