The day the bottom blitzed Britain: How Kim Kardashian (and her traffic-stopping derriere) caused chaos on a flying visit to the UK

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian — the very proud owner of the world’s most famous bottom — arrived in London on Friday evening to a welcome normally reserved for royalty or A-listers.

The VIP guest of fashion bible Vogue, the 35-year-old star of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, wife of rapper Kanye West and mother to North and Saint, spent 48 hours blitzing the capital with her unique brand of self-promotion.

All done in the best possible taste, of course. With more than 70 million followers on social media, Kim wasted no time sharing every last detail of her life — from mid-air pregnancy tests to Kanye’s snoring, from scrambled eggs for breakfast to how she really feels about that impressive derriere and all those naked selfies.

She has already won over legendary U.S. Vogue editor Anna Wintour — to the consternation of many.

Now Kim is taking on the Brits in her very own classy manner. This is what she got up to...

1 THREE pregnancy tests at 32,000ft

Long before flight BA268 touched down at Heathrow Airport at 5.30pm on Friday, selfie queen Kim was pulling out all the stops to ensure the journey from her LA home did not go - horror - unnoticed.

How? By posting pictures of three sets of pregnancy tests packets accompanied by the caption ‘Panic Attack’.

Kim, who went on to inform her 70 million social media followers that doctors had warned her about the risk to her health from a third pregnancy, shortly followed up with a picture of the result ‘not pregnant’.

2 Hello London and watch out husband 

Kim's just arrived in London and already the signs are not good for her overshadowed husband Kanye West, who is pushed out of the way by Kim’s oversized security guard.

Kayne’s air of grumpiness — no doubt helped by being billed at Heathrow airport as ‘Kimberley Kardashian West with guest’ — looks set to grow, despite the fact that his wife has sweetly chosen to wear matching ripped jeans for their first outing in London town.

3 Time for champers and shopping 

Next stop that day is a spot of retail therapy at Vivienne Westwood’s iconic store on the fashionable King’s Road, in Chelsea.

The World’s End store had stayed opened three hours later than usual and provided champagne and truffles for the couple.

Earlier, they had swung by Westwood’s design HQ in Battersea. Another new clothing range for Mr West, perhaps?

4 Brass neck, moi? 

It's 9pm and Kim emerges wearing a £315 gold choker with a bold message

A nod perhaps to the 2007 leaked sex tape she made with a singer called Ray J which went viral, and despite the initial embarrassment, served only to enhance her fame.

As she left the shop she was mobbed by young female fans seeking selfies.

5 Selfies in luxury suite while hubby snores 

By 4.37am on Saturday morning, a jet-lagged Kim, unable to sleep in the Dorchester’s top suite, was back on social media. 

‘This is so unfair,’ she posted under a Snapchat picture of Kanye. ‘He’s like passed out. Do you hear him snoring?’

‘This always happens to me when I come to London,’ she told her followers.

6 Brekkie's a big scramble

It’S 9.45am and a breakfast fit for a selfie queen. The £27 meal, including fresh juices, pastries and scrambled eggs was so good, it deserved a photo of its own.

In fact, it was almost 1pm before the couple emerged from the splendour of the Dorchester’s Deanery suite, having ordered a bottle of champagne to be sent up as well.

Nothing like starting the day in style.

7 The big attraction  

By 1.08pm, the famous posterior, encased in peachy pink, arrives to address the Royal Geographical Society for a Vogue talk entitled Fashion, Friendship And Fabulous Lashes. 

She shocks her audience by revealing plans to slim down her famous asset. 

Vogue’s Fiona Golfar is stunned: ‘Now you want to lose the bum? I mean, lose the bum, Kim?’

8 Ready for my close-up

Preparing to speak at the Vogue event, she teams up with Charlotte Tilbury, make-up artist to the stars. 

Tilbury recounts her first meeting with Kim at Annabel’s nightclub. 

‘I looked up and went: “Oh my God! Quick, Instagram! Selfie!” I always admired you. A modern icon. It was old friends immediately.’ 

9 Who said underwear can't be outerwear 

Back to the Dorchester on Saturday afternoon and a quick costume change into a black, silk camisole dress, teamed with a navy baseball jacket, choker, shades and hair in a bun. 

But what’s this? A fan without a mobile phone? Kim forgoes a selfie for once to autograph a copy of her photo-book, Selfish. 

10 Retail therapy with a few friends in tow

It's 10pm on Saturday night and Kim requires a police escort as she and Kanye leave the Roberto Cavalli store on Sloane Street, after 300 fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the stars. 

Scenes turned sour when the crowd became aggressive and swarmed all over Kim’s car.

Well, if you will stock up on designer gear at all hours...

Perhaps this is her way of making it up to the Italian designer after opting for a rival Balmain gown to wear to the Met Gala in New York, having been widely predicted to wear Cavalli.

11 ...And now zipping off to Rome  

Off for a brief jaunt to Rome on Sunday to celebrate their second wedding anniversary. Who needs the main terminal at Heathrow when you can by-pass the masses by using the £2,000 VIP Windsor suite?

Married in Florence in May 2014, Kim goes for an Audrey Hepburn-esque Roman Holiday look — albeit with an easy access frontal zip — while Kanye’s T-shirt is emblazoned with the image of his late mother, Donda West.

But they’ll be back in Blighty today for Vogue’s ball tonight...
