Frankie Essex suffers a fashion faux pas in an unflattering skintight salmon minidress as she heads out to dinner date in Essex

She has admitted to yo-yo dieting in the past - yet is never shy of showing off her figure.

And Frankie Essex was yet again flashing her frame as she stepped out in her native Essex to head for dinner at Sheesh restaurant in Chigwell on Monday night.

The 27-year-old former TOWIE star slipped into an unflattering skin-tight salmon pink mini dress with a sky-high hemline and skimpy spaghetti straps for her dinner at the star-studded eatery.

Frankie's salmon pink gown clung to every inch of her frame and showed off an abundance of skin thanks to its barely-there cut, although it is arguably not her most flattering look to date.

With tight dresses being the favoured look of the TOWIE ladies, it seems the sister of Joey Essex was determined to follow the trends of her cohorts rather than flatter her own frame.

Not only showing off all her bosom and stomach beneath the dress, her legs were also on show in their near entirety due to the extremely high hemline, which risked showing her underwear beneath.

A frill along the trim of the mini drew attention to Frankie's surgically enhanced chest, the result of the 2012 boob job which saw her go from a 34C cup to a 34E.

Frankie added accents to the pink look by pairing the ensemble with white pointed heels with a delicate ankle strap and also rocking a long-strap white handbag.

The blonde beauty appeared to have distanced herself from a deep tan, as she showed off an alabaster colouring which boldly stood out against the pale pink of her gown.

Her blonde tresses were scraped into a low ponytail while her make-up was relatively minimal - a move away from her overly glamorous beauty regimen of days gone by.

Frankie recently revealed that she had lost all confidence after gaining weight and breaking up with her boyfriend John Lyons, last year.

Speaking to Now Magazine, she said: 'I did think about killing myself, like my mum. She was depressed and I'm scared I'll fall into that hole. But I'm on antidepressants now and they're helping me feel happier. I want to be the old Frankie again.

'I'd lost all my confidence. I had a really s**t year, probably the worst year I've ever had, and I was really down. I lived with my boyfriend John [Lyons] and I had to move out.'

Joey Essex's sister has always battled with her weight and has previously spoken about being heavier while growing up and not wearing a dress until she was 18 because she was so self conscious.

She told MailOnline: 'I was the heaviest I’ve ever been - I didn’t wear a dress until I was 18 because I hated my figure so much.

'I went on a liquid diet for three months and lost the weight fast, but my skin was really saggy afterwards. I weighed 9st 6lbs but, in my head, I was still fat. It took ages for my head to catch up with my new body.'
