Whether she is on or off the runway, Gigi Hadid is a fashion inspiration to her fans.

And on Monday the catwalk queen once more demonstrated her eye for style when she stepped out in New York on Monday, looking edgy and sporty.

The 21-year-old donned a pair of skin tight grey jeans which flattered her long legs and flat belly, as well as a black sweatshirt with a lace cut-out that crossed above the cleavage and into the sleeve.

Gigi's sweatshirt cinched at her narrow waist and was paired with a black hat worn backwards over her thick and long, windswept locks. 

Letting her skin breathe, Gigi looked to have ditched the makeup for the day, but still protected her light green eyes behind a large pair of black tint shades. 

Stepping outside in her black studded ankle boots, Gigi looked in her element as she continued on her way, working the pavement like a runway.

The girlfriend of former One Direction star Zayn Malik, Gigi, who has modeled for the likes of Guess and Tom Ford, has another new gig to look forward to - the host of the upcoming Much Music Video Awards.

She is the sister of fellow model Bella Hadid, who recently said there is no sibling rivalry between the pair. 

'[Gigi] gives me advice sometimes but mostly she lets me do my thing and be myself,' Bella confessed to Ksenija Lukich in an interview for E! Australia's The Hype.

'It's nice to have a separation between us.'

The blonde model was spotted in New York doing the thing that she does so perfectly in her paired down, sporty ensemble.

With a backwards hat, lace paneled shirt and some studded boots, Gigi nailed that effortless, off-duty model look perfectly.

But we had all eyes on her grey skinny jeans with that sporty tuxedo stripe running the length of her leg-- raking in the style points and winning over our hearts/

Meanwhile, TMZ has reported that Gigi, Taylor Swift, and several other celebrities are allegedly being terrorized with death threats by an internet troll. 

He is said to have tweeted Gigi 'people gon die they're gon die die die die!', and to have threatened Cara Delevingne with the words: 'I will kill your friends and I am excited about it.'

Police are now allegedly combing Twitter to find the culprit.
