‘In 22 seasons that is the best dance I have ever seen!’: Deaf model Nyle DiMarco wows in emotional last DWTS performance just ahead of the finale

Deaf supermodel Nyle DiMarco received sky high praise on Monday’s Dancing With the Stars, as judge Carrie Ann Inaba called it the best dance she’s seen in the history of the show.

Nyle, a smoldering 26-year-old from New York had nailed an emotional freestyle routine with his partner Peta Murgatroyd.

‘That was beyond dancing, that was a work of art,’ said Bruno Tonioli who was moved to tears and complaining of ‘chills’.

‘In 22 seasons that is the best dance I have ever seen,’ Carrie Ann told the 6′ 2″ America’s Next Top Model Winner, who was born deaf.

The routine, which was choreographed by Talia Favia, scored a perfect 30.

It was designed to ‘inspire deaf people worldwide’ and incorporated a flaming piano as a prop.

‘That was a very special dance,’ extolled Len Goodman, as Nyle’s mother sobbed from the sidelines.

‘So profound,’ gushed Carrie Ann.

The performance came during the first part of this season’s finale, which concludes tomorrow night.

Each couple began with a ‘redemption routine’ designed to rectify mistakes they’d made earlier in the season.

They then each completed a freestyle dance.

Nyle’s redemption was a complex ‘cowboy quickstep’ which earned 27.

‘An exhilarating ride on the pony express,’ screamed Bruno, while pointing out a ‘tiny loss of precision’.

‘Nyle, you’re one heck of a dancer,’ said Len.

UFC fighter Paige VanZant did a fiery redemption salsa with Mark Ballas – which scored 29.

‘You’re like a meteor shower,’ raved Carrie Ann, calling it an ‘A+’. But Len said Paige’s hip action was a little lacking.

‘You have to understand Len’s on his third hip,’ joked Tom Bergeron.

‘You were bursting with sex appeal,’ applauded Bruno.

Their freestyle was to Somewhere Over the Rainbow. It was inspired by Paige’s struggle against bullying as a kid.

Mark started crying after the dance, which scored 30.

‘I’m not really crying, I don’t know what’s happening to me right now,’ he sobbed, which set off Carrie Ann and Bruno’s waterworks.

‘Fantastic,’ said Len, while Bruno called it ‘a triumph’.

‘You’re an angel,’ Bruno told the 22-year-old MMA fighter.

First of the night was meteorologist Ginger Zee and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, with a contemporary choreography.

Ginger, 35, was recovering from a back injury.

‘My back, my pelvis, everything is starting to give out and it could not have come at a more pressure-filled time,’ she fretted.

‘If I perform full out, with how I feel right now it will spasm and I could, in the middle of the dance, in front of America, fall down and not be able to move,’ she predicted.

The dance came off without incident and they scored 28.
