Nice sweat suit!  Matt Damon goes for a run while wearing a bespoke two-piece during modelling shoot

It is not the most obvious choice of running gear.

But wearing a bespoke two-piece suit was not enough to get in the way of Matt Damon from showing off his jogging form in Los Angeles on Monday

Thankfully the Beyond The Candelabra favourite had not taken leave of his senses, but was in fact taking part in an exciting modelling shoot for men's magazine GQ.

The 45-year-old Jason Bourne star seemed in great shape for his age as he sprinted down the street in his grey suit, white shirt, black tie and smart leather shoes.

However it seems the handsome hunk is human after all, as he displayed a generous spare tire when he took off his jacket to cool down.

He also seemed relieved when he got the chance to rest for a while by sitting upon the boot of a vintage muscle car being used as part of the fashion shoot.

While he is completely home in front of both film and photography cameras these days, Matt was not always so comfortable.

In fact, he recently admitted to Town & Country that the transition from relative unknown to celebrity was 'surreal.'

He said: 'It's surreal to suddenly wake up to one day and have a larger sphere of influence than you ever anticipated. You genuinely want to do good in the world, but you're going to make a lot of missteps,' he said.

The genberouys satr even said that in the early days of his fame he was forced to grapple with finding himself attached to causes he was no expert in.

He said: 'People started asking me to come to this gala or that. And then I would find my name associated with things that I didn’t know anything about.

'I didn't want to be somebody at whom people rolled their eyes, thinking, "What is he doing, getting into the middle of this kind of stuff?"

Wise words indeed for the star, who played a prodigiously gifted self-taught genius in his breakthrough role Good Will Hunting in 1997.
