'We can carry our babies and still feel attractive!' Hilaria Baldwin slams pregnancy body shamers and vows to never stop posting sexy snaps despite online bullying

She may be on her third pregnancy in as many years, but do not expect this star to stick to the traditional maternity 'standard'.

Hilaria Baldwin has hit back at those who bully her and other pregnant women for not wanting to cover up and just sit around and wait for their baby to come.

Sitting down with the Today Show's website, the 32-year-old star said women are often made to feel unsexy as soon as they are pregnant but that does not, and should not, have to be the case.

Pointing to the interview with an Instagram post on Tuesday, she said: 'Looking at the history of pregnancy fashion of muu-muus and oversized clothing, you can see that women were often meant to hide our pregnant figures.

'Bikinis, tight dresses, and lingerie were completely out of the question, and feeling sexy was a thing of the past.'

The need for a pregnant women to seem virginal was particularly odd, she told Today.

'Once you get pregnant, you are supposed to be totally pure - mom jeans and all. This is all very interesting because sex got us here in the first place!

'I post so much on my Instagram about staying fit, healthy, and confident because I feel that we can carry our babies and still feel attractive.'

And she certainly does post a lot, with the star recently sharing a snap of her Instagram of her in lingerie showing off her bump created by her growing yet-to-be born son with husband Alec Baldwin.

The yoga teacher said pictures like those can attract rude comments and Hilaria called for the body shaming and bullying to stop, saying it says more about the bully than who they target.

This is why she will not stop posting such snaps, she said, as its an example to other pregnant ladies to be strong and sexy.

'I am still me. So I will embrace the process, yet again, this third time around, and show that we have nothing to be ashamed of.

'Occasionally I will get a ''save it for your husband'' or ''shameless'' or ''you are a mother ... what will your child think?'' Whenever I hear these I think: my husband sees much more, I am sending a positive message of self-love, and my babies and I were both naked when they were born, so I think they are OK with it.

'Most of the time I just ignore, block, delete. Sometimes I like to talk about a post if I feel it can help other people learn about bullying.'

Recently the mom of two took a commenter to task after they were critical about a photo video montage she posted of herself in a bikini with daughter Carmen, 2.

Reporting one of the pictures Hilaria clapped back at the Instagram commenter who criticised her for presenting an idealized image of motherhood and not showing what real moms look like- 'warts and all'.

The star captioned the image: 'Let's begin with your words: "shameless" "perfectly puckered" "pretend to be perfect" "not real". I am sorry I don't have any "warts" now, as you told me if I showed them I'd be "cooler" - I did once as a child on my foot but that got burnt off at the dr -maybe this was the peak of my coolness.

'I have never done a cosmetic procedure and I rarely wear makeup. So what is wrong with my pictures? I am just me. I take pics in all sorts of places....At the laundromat, right before bed, exercising, tired, pregnant, makeup free.

'Can't we all just support each other? We may never meet and you can have any opinion of me you want, but I find that when we project negativity, we miss out. I know I open myself up to all sorts of body shaming when I post like this.

'So why do I do it? Because I WANT TO BE REAL. These are REAL moments of my life, and regardless of how I look, I am allowed to share them.'

Not staying quiet: The 32-year-old will not stop posting such snaps, she said, as its an example to other pregnant ladies to be strong and sexy. She also will not hold back against those who criticize her

Telling Today about why she responds, Hilaria said: 'Responding with love, forgiveness, and support are the best I can do. We are all the same: laughter, tears, soul, passion - respond with humanity and maybe that's one step closer to peace.'

Hilaria's baby is due in the fall and will be their second son in two years, their other son Rafael is 11 months.

Hilaria and Alec also share two-year-old Carmen, while Alec, 58, has daughter Ireland from previous marriage to Kim Basigner.
