Showing them how it’s done! Pop divas Ariana Grande and Christina Aguilera showcase their powerhouse vocals during sensational duet on The Voice finale

They are both known for their powerhouse vocals.

And Tuesday night saw Ariana Grande and Christina Aguilera join forces to belt out Ariana’s hit single, Dangerous Woman, on the season finale of The Voice.

The 22-year-old singer kicked things off as she dazzled the crowd with her sultry track before Christina joined her on stage halfway through the performance.

While Ariana opted for an all-white ensemble, Christina, 35, was the yin to her yang in as she rocked a black bra underneath high-waisted trousers and a blazer.

Ariana was heard saying, ‘Christina, take it away girl’ before Christina sang her way onto the stage surrounded by a troop of sexy female dancers.

The combination of Ariana’s dulcet tones with Christina’s distinctive deep and raspy vocals provided the audience with a new take of the single.

Ariana started her set with new single, Into You, on the dazzling set which featured a neon light archway. 

Sorting a boob tube underneath her suit, the diminutive pop star worked the stage with male back-up dancers.

She accessorised with a embellished choker and wore her locks in her trademark high ponytail. 

The duet had been organised after Christina's anticipated virtual duet with a hologram of the late Whitney Houston had to be scrapped because the technology was not able to meet expectation.

Later in the night, Christina was left overjoyed as her contestant Alisan Porter was crowned the winner of season 10 of The Voice.

Alisan made history as she became the first winning contestant to come from a female coach. 

The 34-year-old Californian screamed 'Oh my god!' and hugged Christina as the announcement was made. 

'I truly believe she is the definition of The Voice,' Christina said of her protégée, who played Curly Sue in the 1991 movie of the same name.

'Every rehearsal with Alisan was fun,' added Christina, who had bonded with her student over their motherly duties and love of music.

'She speaks mom,' said Alisan who also inspired with her recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. 

Adam Wakefield representing coach Blake Shelton finished in second while Hannah Huston of Pharrell Williams's team was third and Laith Al-Saadi of Adame Levine's team was fourth. 

The announcement came after two hours of performances by guest artists and former contestants.

Hannah joined former The Voice mentor CeeLo Green for a down tempo version of Gnarls Barkley's 2006 hit Crazy.

'Blake was the first person who really believed in me as an artist,' he said.

'He's very funny…I've never met anyone like him on the show,' agreed Blake, who asked to hug Adam 'from behind'.

'No way,' yelled Adam.

In a funny skit Pharrell met with some school kids for a 'story time' that involved reading out the lyrics of songs from his fellow coaches.

'Are we done here?' asked one of the children after he was subjected to the tale of Christina's hit Genie In A Bottle.

The Voice will return for season 11 on NBC in September with Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys as new coaches.
