Trying to explain to the store manager that your son has gone to the bathroom in a display toilet is a conversation most parents would do anything to avoid.
But that's exactly what happened to one unlucky parent, who no doubt is having a worse day than you.
Buzzfeed has taken a look at the cringe-worthy parenting moments that will immediately make you feel better about yourself, including the moment one parent confused 'pyjama' day with school photo day.
Awkward: Parents have shared their most cringe-worthy moments, including confusing 'pyjama' day with 'school photo' day (pictured)
Try explaining that one: One parent was horrified to find their son had gone the bathroom in a display toilet
Whoops: A little more force than was needed went in to this kick that ended up with a hoppy ball stuck high in a tree
Spilled milk: It would be hard for this breastfeeding mother not to cry over spilled milk when she spent the time expressing it for her baby
At least he was close: This father seemed a little too enthusiastic about his child's birthday, having sent them a message in celebration the day before
Buzz cut gone wrong: At home haircuts might seem like a good idea, until this happens
Packing lunch for your kids each morning, between getting ready for work and coordinating the school run, can become a rush job.
But if you ever felt guilty for popping a packet of chips in your kids lunchbox - take heed.
In the mad rush to get out the front door one exhausted mum popped an alcoholic beverage in her child's lunchbox having mistaken it for a can of iced tea.
Time for a tipple? One tired mother accidentally packed an alcoholic beverage in her daughter's lunch box, seemingly mistaking it for an energy drink or iced tea
Powder mishap: They might look similar, but baby formula is not what this parent was after when they tried to make a protein shake
What the..? One mother was told chocolate-dipped bananas were not an appropriate looking food to send to a children's party
Frightening: It probably looked easy on Pinterest, but this animal-shaped pancake was more terrifying than tempting
Instagram and Pinterest are filled with seemingly easy ideas to tempt your children in to eating.
From colourful fruit sticks to animal-inspired pancakes, the short videos and simple steps make dinner time look all too easy.
But as one parent found out, making a cute animal pancake is easier said than done.
Their end result was a mangled mess that was more terrifying monster than tempting pancake - but at least they tried.
Another parent found out the hard way chocolate-dipped bananas are not an appropriate looking food to send to a children's party.
Gross: The moment they realised there was no bin bag in the nappy capsule would have been devastating for this parent
Mixing colours: You should never wash your colours with your whites, and the same can be said for mixing orange pens with white towels
Let is snow: After their child opened up a beanbag, this parent was left to clean up the mess
That will take a while: This is what happens when you 'neglect' your laundry as a parent
Cleaning the house is never fun.
But cleaning the house with a toddler was enough to make these parents throw their hands up in defeat.
One parent found an orange pen had been thrown in to the washing machine - leaving fluorescent streaks all over their clean washing.
Another forgot to replace the bin bag in their nappy bin, and when they opened it to clean out, dirty nappies spilled all over the floor.
Honest truth: When asked what their mother does when driving, this child said she yells are the other drivers
Don't we all? Another child was asked what their mum liked to drink, and simply responded: wine
Pass the blame: When this parent forgot to play the role of tooth fairy, they left a fanciful note in explanation
Children are known to say whatever's on their mind - causing their parents grief in the process.
When asked at school what their mother liked to drink, one student seemingly truthfully replied: 'wine'.
Another admitted when their mother is driving, she is usually yelling at the other driver.
