EXCLUSIVE: Amy Schumer cavorts in the waves with boyfriend Ben Hanisch... before telling body shamers 'I look strong and healthy'

She spends her working life trying to make people laugh.

But it was Amy Schumer's turn to smile, as she enjoyed an idyllic beach day with boyfriend Ben Hanisch in Hawaii on Monday.

The witty comic showed her zest for life as she cavorted in the ocean with Ben, swimming together before sharing a kiss as the waves broke around them.

Despite her carefree appearance, the Inside Amy Schumer star later took to social media to defend herself against 'trolls' who had criticized her appearance.

Directly addressing those responsible for negative comments about her body, she called them out for being 'unkind'.

'I hope you find some joy in your lives today in a human interaction and not just in writing unkind things to a stranger you've never met who triggers something in you that makes you feel powerless and alone,' she wrote on Instagram.

'This is how I look. I feel happy. I think I look strong and healthy and also like Miss Trunchbull from Matilda. Kisses!'
